Algae in newly opened pool

What is CYA? There's shock () and whatever leftover SimpleBlue was still there from last year after it was drained.

CYA is the moniker for cyanuric acid. Also known as stabilizer, conditioner, etc.

Depending on the type of shock you used, there may be some CYA in the water - was it dichlor? If so, go to PoolMath, at the bottom is Effects of Adding Chemicals. Be sure your pool volume is entered at the top of the page. Then put how much dichlor you have used and that will tell you how much CYA you have added.

Hope that helps.
