Alerts is forum ok?

Cant use the alerts menu nor my user menu on the top banner right hand side.
Is it just me or the forum having issues?

There's some DNS propagation issues going on as I'm randomly getting this error:

"You are still viewing the old server, it may take some time for your DNS to update."

When I switch on my VPN I'm able to access things again.

This is, of course, unless this DNS change was literally just made within the last few hours.....in which case, this could be normal and expected.

Never makes changes on a Friday. As a network engineer I have to even loggin to devices on Fridays unless it’s a urgent change

DNS propagation can take up to 24 hours. I was running into the same thing with my cell phone but not on my computer and they're on the same network (go figure). Flushed the phones cache and voila.

Don’t feel bad, I can’t give details but our whole office is down and traced to a major outage at a major datacenter in Atlanta
Luckily I am not on call but got called anyway.

The sole reason we did this on Friday, or at all for that matter, is because I suspect if we didn’t update we wouldn’t have went the weekend without a crash. I hated updating at all this time of the year but it was a must do. We’re slowly checking off issues one by one and in time will be back to normal.

There have been several times on outages I wanted to drink but didn't..Wasn't worried about technical side but more worried about what I might tell the guy on the phone asking every minute " is it fixed yet? is it fixed yet? I need to send an update"

Been there and made the same call. Otherwise it would slip that they had a 1D10T error. Worst case I’ve ever seen sir. Whoooooooole Lotta 1D ten Ts in your organization

FWIW, DNS issues are persisting here in Canada - error message on home wifi, working over cellular data.

That would be an ISP issue. You can open a ticket and ask them to refresh their DNS cache. This site uses Cloudflare so that may have something to do with it also but I doubt it.

hava you tried doing ipconfig /flushdns? assuming its windows

Not windows. Multiple machines and devices in the house were having the same issue so it was ISP related for sure, not device specific.

Anyhow, seems OK this morning.

On another note however, I'm getting zero emails from the forum, specifically, thread reply notifications.

Just checked the function is enabled on my account, and checked my spam folder. Nowhere to be seen.
