Aiper has some new robots

The Aiper vacuum is ok, not great.

First impressions:

The attachment where you put the pole into is too big. It does not slide in all the way, which also makes it hard to remove. I guess over time it will wear and be better. Or I can just sand it down, but still a ding against it.

The vacuum head is rather small and the wheels are too recessed. So it does not run smoothly against a pebble surface. Again probably something I can file down but not something I should have to do.

Let me use it a few more times and I will give you more details. I have not really measured the suction on it yet. But it did pick up most of the debris in the spa.

I also found the head leaving something to be desired. Pulling works much better than pushing.

Just received and charging! Really light! Filter bag is a bit questionable. The bottom clips off easily, but then the bag is just pressed into place (it has a frame, but the assembly just looks like a weak point). Good sized bag. My main goal is to see how it does on acorns (there's at least 100 in the pool right now). Once charged, I'll post.

Fairly impressed! Of this one 2 hour run, it collected all but 4 acorns (and 2 of those fell after battery ran out). I had run my Aquabot yesterday, so it was pretty much 1 days worth of acorns. Aquabot had left 7 or 8. Took 2.5 hours to charge. Doesn't sink fast, you need to push it in the water sand rotate it to get the air out. But very light to pull out. I have 2 poles, net & brush, I don't brush often so used it, works well.

Has an issue with steps. Tries to climb, gets stuck for maybe 2 minutes, but tends to get out on its own. Same with drains, it might get hung up for a minute, but seems to rock itself off. My pool has large bottom radii that tend to tip it over once in a while, but somehow it flips itself back over. Only "cleans" walls going up, hits coping, sucks air, falls to bottom. The "roller" is what moves it, so not spinning at a different speed, ie: not really "sweeping". Front wheels are hard plastic and do nothing, probably be better rubber.

Filter is actually easier to clean than my Aquabot (which has 2 baskets). Going to use it 2 or 3 weeks to make sure there are no fails, then buy the 3 year warranty off I keep it. Well worth the $86 Amazon charges.

Update on the handheld vac:
Used this for the 3rd ish time today. Spent ~20 minutes and did both the pool and spa as we had a statistically relevant amount of earthworms sitting at the bottom of the pool from the recent rains and i could not get them out with the net. Pushing does in fact pick up better but it seems you must maintain a very shallow angle for it to work well without skipping on the Pebble finish (roughly 30°) this is easily achievable in the pool but a much bigger challenge in the spa. Battery life has yet to present itself as a problem. This is good given my history on the smorobot I allow it to dry completely before plugging it in. Thus far that has allowed at least 2 uses between charging.

Your comment prompted me look closer at the head. There is not room to add anything to the wheels but it also looks like the front wheels do nothing . They are about 1mm below the lip which I assume is to create suction. The lip is more like a soft plastic or very stiff rubber so it does not really lend itself to contouring to slide.

I'm at 5 years on my dolphin nautilus so I'm really wanting one of these wireless options to really work well. Ol' girl can't last much longer and i'm sick of the cords.

Nevermind a pebble surface I tried running on a smooth floor and I could not push it around. I am going to email Aiper and see what they say.

Also it seems like the Aipers all use the same connectors for the chargers and they all seem to be 12v. At least the two units I have. So if you have a fleet of them charging is probably easier.

I Purchased the Seagull pro a couple of weeks ago. Not meant to ship until march though I think. Based on the videos I have seen it looks great value and will hopefully work well in my 14x30 fiberglass pool. Curious how it will handle the steps up to the tanning ledge.

It's available for pre order on their site. I'm not sure if the price is discounted or normal msrp but it seems good value compared to the corded versions. If you buy it try using coupon codes 70off ,aiper20 I got sent a coupon for $20off after i purchased it so i guess it's a generic discount code and should work for anyone. I have seen others say they have used 70off but it didn't work for me.

It's big and sucks up everything, but not real easy to clean and felt a little wimpy. It charged in 2.5 hours and lasted 2 hours, and is really light.

Does your pool have slopes? If so, how did it perform on those... I've seen some conflicting info about how it handles them. I'm thinking about going with it since it's so marked down at the moment, but unsure it would work in my pool (vinyl kidney 3-8' deep). Thanks!

Works fine on slopes and walls. I just didn't like the bottom access filter bag. Waiting for the Pro, hoping it's discounted. My Aquabot SP200 does a fine job also with no tangled cord. Rather not have a cord of a reliable cordless comes out.

Did you notice they changed the feature grid on the seagull pro and now it shows "flat floor"? That would be rather disappointing and seems contradictory if it does walls.

Didn't notice, must be a typo. The info in the box on the Elite also said flat floor. I emailed them and they said that was an error. It climbed to the waterline with no problem. I really doubt the Pro needs a flat floor since it does waterline.
