Advice on Fixing A Leak at Pump's Return

I just noticed a leak at the union for my pump return on the way to the filter. The union joins the PVC to the pump and in these pictures you'll see some water glistening under the joint. I'm not sure what the white goo stuff is. But you can see the discoloration on the pump where the water has dripped and there's a wet spot on the pad.

I don't want to get in over my head and wondering what's involved with this repair. Would I be cutting and gluing PVC or can I just unscrew the union and put in a new o-ring or something like that? Thanks!1000001423.jpg

Probably just needs a new o-ring and some silicone lubricant.

Look on top of the black part for make and model numbers. Post what it says and we'll find you the right o-rings.

Start by replacing the O-Ring. And don't over tighten it.

You can probably get the whole unions cheaper than the O-rings.

Check the O-rings and measure the dimensions.

The face O-ring is unusual and harder to find.
