HI folks:

I've got a 40 year old Gunite pool with an Anthony Model 20 pool light. It's getting difficult to find parts for the light and there are no LED bulb options.

In a year or so, I'm likely going to need to redo my pool deck. It is original and needs some work. I'll likely hire a local Gunite pool company for this.

During this process, is it possible to replace the pool light and niche? Drain the pool, cut out the 40 year niche, and then install a new niche and modern, 24V LED light? Perhaps move the junction box for the light from sticking up out of the deck (from under where the diving board used to be.

Is this the process? Am I missing anything?

Anything is possible with a big enough budget.

I think you have the right idea. You just need to find a good pool rehab guy who likes getting his hands dirty.
