I have a prologic ps4 on my pool with attached spa and spillover. The pool builder left the pool in pool mode which has the pump pulling from the pool and flowing back to the spa, pool returns, and bubblers. So my spa is spilling over anytime my pump is running in pool mode. I’d like to change this to where in pool mode the spa is not spilling over and then I can set a timer to turn on the spillover for an hour a day. I’m fighting climbing pH and I think the spillover running constantly is contributing to the pH climb. Here is a picture of the return side of my equipment pad:

The left pipe is the spa return, the middle two pipes are bubblers in the tanning ledge, and the right pipe is the pool return.

Here is a picture of the valve actuator on the return side in spillover mode which is correct:

The following picture is the actuator in pool mode:

As you can see, in pool mode, the water is returned to the spa, bubblers, and pool return. What adjustments do I need to make to the actuator to have it shut off the spa return line in pool mode, or is this not possible with my setup?

So I’ve played around looking for a timer for spillover mode and couldn’t find one. I read through the operators manual and discovered that I will have to run a group function though one of the aux buttons. The only problem is aux 1 is currently set up to operate the spa light. Aux 2 is empty, but I was planning on using it for landscape lighting. There are also a valve 3 and valve 4 buttons which are not in use. Can one of these be used to set up the group function to automatically operate spillover mode?

According to the link mknauss provided, it must be run off an aux function. Perhaps I should just tie my spa light into my pool lights, freeing up an aux function for spillover automation.

So just for giggles, I went out to the equipment pad and set a group up on valve 3. I had it set to turn on spillover mode and turn the pump on at 2400 RPM. When I mashed the filter three button, the valves turned into spillover mode and the pump came on at the desired RPM. So I guess that is a possibility. The only issue was when I turned off valve 3 and switched back to pool mode, the pump didn’t come back on until I manually turned it on.

I guess it will be necessary to set a timer for the pump to run in pool mode for 23 hours and a timer for the spillover mode to run the remaining hour. Does that sound right? I may still just tie all my pool lights and spa light together. I’m not sure there’s a benefit to having them wired separately. But it’s nice to know the valve 3 and valve 4 buttons can be used as additional aux controls.
