Adjusting Calcium Hardness?

Hey everyone,

I have my own test kit (results below) but take a water sample to the pool store when I need to get more chemicals for comparison. They called out the calcium hardness being off, but said that since it's a new pool, I shouldn't worry about CH until the pool is a year old (pool finished and was filled end of February). This seemed wrong, and I couldn't find anything online supporting their claim, but wanted to get advice from the experts before adjusting anything there. The pool has a Pebble Tec finish.

FC = 5.0
CC = 0
CYA = 70
CH = 150
TA = 50
pH = 7.2

Recommended Levels

You need to raise your CH to the range listed in the link above.
Also, you need to raise your FC level. A CYA of 70 for a non-SWCG pool is high.
Be ware of the Mineral Cartridge. It will eventually stain your pool surfaces.

Thanks for the quick response. Definitely will work on raising the CH.

I know the CYA is on the high side, but being in Florida, small pool, rain, etc. it tends to fluctuate a bit. I typically raise the FC before the weekends when the pool will be getting heavy use.
