Hello --

I have an inground 20000 gallon pool that we built in 2009. Almost all the equipment is original and working. Its largely a pentair system with a suntouch controller, intellichlor swg, intelliflo vs pump, propane spa heater, and len gordon air switch for spa activation. we changed to a robotic cleaner and have replaced the swg several times. recently i put a new blower on the spa. our air button has quit working and i'm wondering about wifi iphone control for the spa and pool functions (changing modes, activating lights, adjusting temp etc),. Im kinda a diy guy and am good with wiring and plumbing.

How difficult would it be to replace or add this to the suntouch and or spa controller?

What would be recommended equipment? Cost?

Thanks

The suntouch is dated. There was support for a 4 relay remote called the Quick Touch (QT4), but it has been discontinued. You may be able to find a used working one (ebay?).

Screenlogic can be used, with easytouch, intellicenter, and suntouch...however the suntouch is monitor only.

Certainly don't buy an easytouch with L in the model number, the lite version is a pain.

For most, the little bit of extra $ for the intellicenter seams to avoid easy touch issues.

Might be a dense read, but worth it.

If you will list out ALL your equipment and description, including make and model numbers, including number of controls/valves (blower, spa etc.). AND post some picture of your equipment pad so we can see everything (even if it takes multiple pictures), the group can provide advice. Knowing what you have makes a big difference. Be detailed.

Thanks so much for such a detailed reply. I guess i probably got screwed on the suntouch in 2009. My pool equipment is as follows:

Suntouch Controller
IC 40 Salt Chlorine Generator (replaced about 5 years ago)
Intelliflow VS-3050 Pump
Mastertemp 400 Pool/Spa Heater
Len Gordon Control AS-2-95 with air button
Air supply silencer spa blower 1hp 240v (Replaced last week)
2 CVA24 valves one for pool/spa return selection One for pool/spa drains
3 Manual drain Valves (2skmmer/1 drain)
1 manual valve for pool return/water feature
Clean Clear Plus cartridge filter

Still have the booster pump for the pool cleaner installed but we now use a s300 robot by maytronics.

Pics to follow....

Pentair IntelliCenter i5PS - there are a few ways to configure the IntelliCenter that we can discuss. And Pentair has clamped down on direct retail sales of the units so you will need to find a place that will sell it to you for DIY install.

You need to be comfortable doing high voltage wiring as you will need to rewire your spa blower and lights for IntelliCenter control. Your VS pump, heater, and Intellichlor are all low voltage wiring to the IntelliCenter.

hldr,

If you were building a new pool/spa, I would not recommend the following, but in your case it would work fine...

This unit does not have a Load Center, but you don't have one now (In your automation)
This unit does not have a built-in SWCG Power Center, but you already have an external Power Center

If you are at all handy, it should be an easy Install, but still costs about $1,700 bucks.. Do you really need Wi-Fi (remote) control??

Thanks,

Jim R.
