Hi,

My pH was 8.2 this morning. I failed to change the concentration on the pool math and ended up adding a gallon of MA which I should have added much less than that. When I checked the pH a few times this afternoon, at about 1 hr, 2 hours and about 4 hours it came back 7.2. I haven’t added anything to bring up my pH as thought I would check it in the morning, as it looks like it will storm in a bit. Water is crystal clear. My question is I would have thought it would have dropped more. Could I assume perhaps the pH was a lot higher since the cutoff is 8.2? Will it keep dropping overnight?

Thanks for any information.

TA will drop each time you add acid.
no issues with what occurred. I tend to say you should not adjust pH by more tha 0.4 points at a time, but with your chemistry as it is now, no damage was done.

This would have reduced TA by about 20. Still pretty high after that.

MA is usually mixed in after 30 min with the pump running, no further pH drop after that.
