Added CYA five days ago, added first round of chlorine today,, how am I looking?

Just finished testing and saw that my chlorine was getting low, especially in comparison to new, higher CYA level. So I just added 1 gallon of 12.5% chlorine.

My test results are in my profile, how am I looking to you veteran pool owners?

The gallon I added today should hopefully get it into range. I’ll check again tomorrow.

I actually don’t know. :-/ I’ve not added anything since opening, and that was only chlorine. I am not sure how the CH raised so much without any additions.

Elevated CH can be pretty hard to test for.. A SpeedStir helps immensely for that test.

Thanks. I used the SpeedStir, but I’ll test it again soon just to see where things land and be extra careful to do it.

Next time, start slowing down adding the drops the last 5 or so. Sometimes even turning off and then on the Speedstir seems to help the color change.

Testing pH and FC and adding liquid chlorine is a daily task. Doing so will put you on a path to keep your pool beautiful and algae free.
