Added ch and now cl tests .5? Cl should test 8

As the title states I added 25 pounds of calcium this morning along with 32 ounces of chlorine which is my daily dose. Tested cl and it’s .5. Added another 32oz cl still tests .5

does ch buffer cl?

CH does not affect CL.

You say your “ cl still tests .5” and then say “ Cl 3”.

What type of chlorine did you add?

If liquid chlorine you think the jug may have degraded?

Thanks AJ this morning it cl was 3. I try to keep my daily level around six. So I added another 32 ounces to bring it up after I added the calcium since I’m a little low. I get my chlorine in 2 1/2 gallon blue jugs purchased six all from the same fresh palate at the local pelican. This chlorine was testing fine but it was the end of the jug. I go through about a jug a week. Pool has been crystal clear stable and has passed the OCLT every night since opening two weeks ago. Pump has been on and I’ve brushed and the robots been going
