Can the toggle switch on an actuator be replaced or do I need to purchase a new actuator?

I have never heard of a bad actuator toggle switch..

You can replace the micro-switches, that often go bad, but somethings are just worth the effort and time required to repair them.

I only have one actuator, but when it goes bad, it is going to be replaced.

CVA24-T Actuator Details

Does anyone know if the 24VAC power to the CVA needs to be balanced across the three wires - L1 - 12VAC COM - 0V L2 - -12VAC or does it just have to be 24VAC across the two “hot” leads? I ask because I have some old defunct CVA’s that I’d like to bench test and I have a 3-wire 24VAC plug in...

Looks like a Jandy JVA2444 Valve Actuator with a Pentair Valve.

The switch can be replaced if you can find the correct part.

The actuators look pretty old, so you might be better off buying new actuators.

I will just get a new actuator. I appreciate the advice.

What actuator should I buy? The one on the right is the one that doesn't seem to be working properly. The one on the left is on my other two diverter valves. Are there any quality aftermarket actuators or should I stick with Jandy?

Shop around. Jandy, Pentair, Hayward, Intermatic are all the same quality.

For what it’s worth, when I did my custom automation system, I got TORK valves for two of my Jandy valves. They are less expensive than the Pentair/Hayward/Jandy offerings and as far as I can tell, they have the same electronics inside.
