Action steps required to open pool

Pool chemistry is never a problem for me, but ai can't remember if there is anything technical I need to do to open besides remove plugs and replace drain cap on the filter and the returns. Am I missing anything? It's been a while since I opened it myself.

20x40 inground vinyl, Hayward S240 filter, Pureline 1.6 VS Pump.

Check valve positions, turn on automated valves (3 way switch on the valve itself), check filter grids, tighten all connections, install skimmer baskets, lube all orings (filter, pump lid). If you have a gas heater, turn on gas. In addition, if your pump is totally dry I suggest hand priming (just fill it with water) to "help" it.

It's hideous. Those are the pieces I have. Not sure what the black pieces are for.

The two black plugs are drain plugs that go in the pump.

The clear plastic goes into your filter MPV valve. The other pieces are probably for your filter drain plug.

I think you are missing a pressure gauge on the top of your filter.

Found where the black plugs go. What can I use to lubricate o rings and where exactly would I find those on the pump, filter, or valve? Is something like WD40 safe? I had someone put this valve on a couple of years ago and it sounds a bit creaky while rotating now. What process would I follow for lubricating it? This setup is ancient, but it was here when we moved in.

Pressure gauge is on the side of the valve.

Glad I saw this. Just did a google search for silicone lube and it was not exactly what I wanted.
