Acid wash or re-surface

Ok well that takes care of acid wash as a treatment. I will not go in that direction for the reasons you mentioned. So now it seems I have to identify these stains with kits, treat, and if not successful resurface. It was mentioned I had an aggressive acid treatment per picture 6435. With this in mind does this put me more towards resurfacing then stain removing? (sorry if question awkwardly worded)

Read up on this. At first glance it looks like Copper to me. Do you use algaecide, minerals or other "blue" products?

I don't know if these products were used as I was not caring for pool when stains occured

How does the surface feel?

I would try the Jack's #2 followed by a drain and refill.*

While the pool is drained, you can use diamond pad sanders to sand the surface if it is rough.

Replastering is a big job and it can involve removing the old plaster and that can sometimes turn into redoing the tile and then the coping and now you are well over $10,000.00 and a full renovation.

* Never drain unless you are 100% sure that it is safe to do so.

Thank you very much I am going to investigate this further. I will let you know what happens.

I don’t know, you’re close-up picture of the plaster does look like diamond bright, and looks really close to what I just got and it’s only a few months old

Thought I would just post a few more pictures from different areas to help with that last question and I hope yours looks better than mine

The surface is not offensive but it is gritty. Level but not smooth.

They do look like stains. Is there any material between the tiles or has it been etched off with acid?
I am not sure why you asked this but looks to me there are some blankish spots here and there!

I am to watch and thank all that have given their input on this thread. I can't wait to see what happens when you get your hands on some vit. C. Just make sure it is WHITE vit. Some color them orange and that will do more harm than good.

Sometimes vitamin C will clear copper and silver stains, but sometimes it makes them worse.

Vitamin C can sometimes turn copper black, so only use one tablet at a time to see what happens.

Silver stains typically turn light purple before clearing.

Iron stains usually clear with vitamin C.
