I’ve been using my TF 100 test kit all summer long. One thing I’ve learned is when my TA stays around 60-70, my PH holds steady. When my TA gets to 80 my PH starts drifting up and I start having to add MA almost daily. I went to the pool store to get some calcium hypochlorite since at my last test my CH was 250. It’s usually 275 to 300 so I was going to use that to increase my CH. I took my pool water to test for fun at the pool store. They told me my TA needs to be at least 80 to protect the pool walls through the winter. Haven’t heard anything about that so I wanted to ask you guys if that’s true. Also they said my CH was 340 which is a major increase from the last time they tested it. We just had a few days of hard rain so I figured that’s why when I tested my CH it had fallen from 275 to 250. I’ve been faithfully following my TF 100 test kit and have had no problems, but now I’m wondering what’s so off about my CH. I’m ocd about testing and my tests are done the exact same way each time. Thanks in advance for your help.
