A Houston Pool Build Inside the Loop

Looks good to me... But what do I know?!?

What do you think you will do for step markers? Some of your glass waterline tile or another tile?

I'm so excited for you! Did the PB give any indication of dig date or time frame for estimated completion?

Denise, we will probably use some of the glass tile unless I can talk hubby into some of that amazing Lightstreams tile like Suz has! No dig date yet. Tree will come out first tho. I will be sad to see it go. Hate having to get rid of it.

I love the design, you've squeezed out a lot of features and function from your limited space!

Thanks Helen!

I like the detail in your design. You won't regret the sunshelf becoming a seat. Anything to add more pool. I wish we had added more depth and more width and length. But you only have so much yard. I love the shape of your pool. I'm glad you got the robot. Another mistake we made. But it's all good. I think the three water features will be nice. We wish we had gotten two lights. One isn't enough. Our shallow end doesn't have enough light.
All in all though, you covered everything!! So excited for you.

I've been studying your design and your house. Is there any way you can bring the pool out so that your current patio/French doors open out to the pool? I think that would be so pretty. I know your drive is there, so maybe that's not possible. But if you could, maybe an L shaped design? I'm sure you've thought of this. I just regret not making my pool a little larger. [emoji3]

Janny, unfortunately not because in Houston you have to be 5' away from a structure so that would leave very little room for the L shape. I fully understand about having a bigger pool though. That's why we got rid of the shelf and made the pool a bit wider and longer. I think it's just about at 10k gallons now. I like that you're giving me ideas and making me think!

Congratulations on the signing! So exciting! I remember the day we signed. We were very excited. The design part is fun, but stressful as you try to get everything you want and stay within budget. Your pool looks to be perfectly designed for your lot! Now the fun begins! I hope you take lots of pictures and share everything with us! [emoji3]

I will definitely take pics and share! I am excited, sad (about the tree) and nervous all at the same time! I keep thinking "what if I don't like it when it's done" kind of thing which I know is stupid but still... Did y'all have those thoughts too?

I did! But my husband helped me. He just reassured me. We really love the results. It has added extra living space to our outdoors. We never went in out backyard. Now we love to go out there. We just can't get enough! But of course you think "we should have gone longer or wider or deeper or picked this or added that." But at the end of the day, it's really great and perfect for us! We don't regret saving money on the basic pebble tech. We love our water color. And we love our salt finished deck. We are very satisfied with the construction and the service we are getting after the fact also. And thanks to trouble free pools, we have had no issues with our water. [emoji3]

I'll be honest that from the time they start destroying your yard to the point where the pool is done you'll have these thoughts a lot. Then once the water is in and cleared up it all goes away. I am so happy I put myself through 'HE double hockey sticks' because the end result is so worth it. I think you'll like it :)
