1st Pool Build - Freeport, TX

What percentage did you save by ordering thru your PB? Not asking how much you paid, just trying to get an idea of the savings.
So I actually negotiated both ledge loungers as part of the pool deal when I signed the agreement. The PB did not "charge extra" for them but did tell me how much they buy them for (I'll send you a private message in case listing the PB's purchase price isn't allowed).

Congrats!!! I'm sure you all are so glad that it's finally finished, and you'll enjoy many happy years swimming in it. I personally really like the gray lounges with the pool color they blend very well. I don't know if the white loungers wouldn't have ended up being too light, and kind of taken away from the overall look of the pool. Well congrats again, and you guys enjoy your beautiful new pool!!!

Thanks! We have grown to really like the gray colored loungers and I agree with your comment that it goes well with the plaster/water color.

I like the gray also. I would be afraid the white would show too much dirt.
That's exactly what our PB said too and that's why he recommended the gray.

Of course what your PB trumps anything we post as they hold the warranty card!

That is a pretty color! LOVE the set up with the loungers!

Thanks for the links!

Our boxer boy Nicky isn't quite ready to swim yet. We're slowly introducing him to the pool via the tanning ledge. He even has his own doggy life preserver/jacket.

He's like "You're not serious are you??"

And now for some nighttime shots of the pool.

Here's the pool area with the two LED floodlights on. I'm adding a 3rd one to light up the yard even more. And I already ordered almost 200' of LED strip lights to install around the fence for even more lighting!

Here's the 3 LED pool lights rotating through its colors.

I don't think we'll ever use the red color. It's just too ominous and dark! But we're about to do some night swimming for the first time because of the full moon and nice breeze...

I love the night shots those are gorgeous. Thank you for sharing them with us.

I think my favs are the 2nd and 3rd ones up from the bottom. It's the color that looks purple/pink up by the lounger, and the one that looks blue. I agree the red is darker than the rest, it doesn't seem to reflect the entire pool like the other colors do for some reason. The last color is really cool too, it has a very mysterious look to it, kind of looks like steam/fog rolling up from the water in the pic. The last one would be a good one for a Halloween party.

I hope sweet little Nicky the boxer warms up to the swimming aspect. I have 5 older dogs, but recently had 6 (had to get my eldest put to sleep cause she got really bad), but not a one of them, even with their life jackets on wants anything to do with the pool. I suppose if I had started them out as puppies in it they might feel differently about it, but lol for now it is 5 No Go's.

We just got done night swimming / brushing the pool. So far my favorite colors are blue and purple. We're hoping Nicky warms up to the pool. He's on the older side so he may be too stubborn to learn.

Sorry to hear about your recent loss of #6. We also just recently had to put down our older female boxer Yashi. We were hoping the pool would be done before we lost her but it didn't work out. She was about 12-13 years old and her degenerative myelopathy was getting really bad. Here's a pic of both Yashi (left) and Nicky (right). We've got her ashes and we plan on putting some in a planter pot near the pool.

Ahhh, Yashi was a beautiful girl. I'm so sorry for your loss too. That is a beautiful tribute to her by putting her ashes in a planter. Mine was almost 14yrs old, she was a real bad diabetic, and had been getting 2 insulin shots a day for years. She ended up getting very sick, and ended up getting down in her backend where she couldn't walk at all, and was constantly incontinent on herself etc., so the vet said it's time to let her go, and I agreed. But it's never easy for sure because they are family too. Actually mine are more like my spoiled little kiddos LOL, but I wouldn't take nothing for any of them. I'm sure Yashi will love knowing her ashes have their own special spot by the pool.

Unfortunately it rained today and the wind was a little chilly. We did find several small frogs in the pool we had to rescue. It's a little blurry but here's a pic of one of the little guys using the pool thermometer as a lilypad. I eventually moved him into the yard just in case.

I bet that felt so good to see! The mess and clutter would get to me fast!

Are you doing the sod on your own?

Kim
Yeah I was getting worried staring at the junk around the yard. Thank goodness they came out before the weekend as we have some folks coming over to visit and swim. The yard work is also part of the PB agreement so they'll be doing that at some unknown point in the future.

We're actually considering adding more cement around the pool and expanding the decking next to the house. My brother's friend does cement and he's coming down Saturday to give us an estimate with and without texture (i.e., Sundek). The less grass to mow the better!

I am SO with you about more cement/less grass! That can only be for the good. Just think of the pain it is going to be to mow and keep the blowback out of the pool. Even if you make sure to the outshoot is pointed away from the pool some still gets in.

Kim
