I have quite a few old double water tubes that have holes, has anybody tried filling them with sand? that seems just way too good of an idea. Please tell me why I would be wasting my time this weekend doing so.
ah,... I'd probably patch the holes before filling with sand. And before that I'd just get free 5 gallon buckets from a local ice cream shoppe etc. and fill those with water. If you really want to use sand then I'd use sand bags as they have a much wider opening to pour sand into. I always recommend water based ballast for your winter cover over anything else because if the ballast were to fall in water doesn't sink but sand will.
