I have high iron well water, do I fill 18,000 gal with this or would I be better off paying a fill truck to fill my pool. I think I am at 50 grains hard IIRC. Thanks Foamer
Iron isn't an indication of hardness. If you have 50 grains hardness, how much of that is calcium? That and alkalinity are the more important numbers to look at when filling a pool.
High iron is VERY VERY detrimental to pool water and there is no question whatsoever that you would be better off by avoiding it if there is any way possible.
Probably the most troublesome pool problems we discuss here on the forum are pools filled from a well. Don't do it if you can avoid it.
