I'm new to taking care of a pool and I'm glad to have found this forum (tons of great info). When having my water tested at my local pool store, I asked if they had a cyanuric acid test kit and they gave me a strip kit to test PH, alkalinity, hardness, CYA, CC and TC. After purchasing I found this forum and only drop kits are recommended. Will the strip kit work or should I return it (unopened) and buy a drop kit?

Return it and ask them to order a Taylor K-2006. Don't letthem sell you a K-2005, it's not the same.

As Richard said, make sure it has the FAS-DPD chlorine test and not just a DPD test. A lot of people have been told they're the same but they're not. Also, not many stores will have the proper kit.

Thanks, I purchased the K-2006 from TFT as Butterfly suggested (best price) and will be returning the AquaChek Select strips to pool store.
