4” pavers

You don't need the really thick ones like that. What's more important is the paver be of adequate size, not only to reduce the likelihood of sinking, but also to have some wiggle room for the post base in case it moves. I would say use your standard 12x12 or 16x16 pavers. Just make sure the ground (base) under each paver is flat and stable so the pave doesn't break under all that weight.
