Dichlor and CYA

I've been using some dichlor left by the previous owners to adjust my CYA. Should I wait about a week to test, or does the CYA dissolve into the water faster with dichlor than it does with granular CYA?

It should dissolve much faster, essentially giving you CYA at the same time it gives you FC.
