2 speed motor timer questoin

My pump motor just died. I'd like to replace it with a 2 speed motor. Do I need to add a new T106R timer to my existing T104R timer and run new wires to the motor now or can I just connect the 2 speed motor and run it off the T104R timer until I have time to add the T106R?

Without the T106R you will have to either run it on only one of the two speeds or use a switch in the back of the motor if it came with one.
