2 gal of chlorine a week?

i have the TF 100 isn't that good enough? although it takes me like an hour if i were to do the chl and ph and cya. and everything. going through all the steps and reading and measuring everything twice as i go. not exactly trouble free in my opinion. i don' t have an extra hour a day to do all these tests. how do i simplify this?
Takes me 15 minutes to run every test in the k2006-salt kit. If it takes you an hour you're not doing it right.

And, it is worth it to pay the $8/year for Pool Math. You can then use the same username you have here, and link it. Then we can see your current and history also. No more retyping! Click on my user name to see my logs in my lurching toward getting my pool fully up and balanced.
Poolmath has a fee?

To clarify, you can link it whether you pay for the subscription or not I believe, but there will only be one log & it’s primary function will simply be calculating so there won’t be much to see.
The subscription allows you to keep unlimited logs and set up multiple pools. For instance I have 3 “pools” set up. My pool, my hot tub, & “pretend pool” which I use to help calculate things for others here without changing my settings and having to change them back later.
Keeping logs allows you to then view summaries of various parameters and additions (like how much fc or cya have I added this month or this year etc.)
Along with the time line records of results, additions, notes, maintenance etc. which is what we mean when we say logs.
I like being able to scroll back to see when I opened or closed last year and what my parameters were at certain times of the season etc.
poolmath is also the only app I have ever paid for. I used it without a subscription for years and just kept a notebook but I would always seem to forget something and it would be confusing when I looked back on it. When I decided to get a larger pool I got the subscription about 7 years ago or so. I haven’t regretted it.

Your CYA is 40?

Your FC is 16, which is the perfect SLAM level.

Keep it there for a few more days.

The algea that the autofill was dumping in does not get killed overnight.

ok i figured maybe there was a .5 margin of error if my scoop of the dpd test was bigger or if my water level wasn't exaclty at the 10 mark..

my cya was 40 when i started my slam 4-5 days ago. i haven't tested the CYA since i started.

should i?

i thought it said don't bother testing anything else until slam was over.?

No reason for CYA to change, unless you added, or had a monsoon rain.

Scoop size doesn't matter much at all. Some kits say 1 scoop (tfpool), others say 2 (Taylor). It creates an indicator with the actual chlorine - and it is that indicator that turns clear as you add the drops. Since it works with 1, it is just wasteful to add more. If it stays clear with 1, you have no chlorine, and adding another won't change things.

10ml of water determines the actual amount of Cl in the sample, so is a bit more critical - so as close to the mark as you can reasonably get.

Thats already factored and why you are allowed 1FC loss overnight. (y)

Welp. Testing CYA during a slam is slowly becoming obsolete as many awitch to cartridge filters. With sand or DE you may backwash enough that the replacement fill water lowers the CYA.

Which makes a great point that you should Fill out your signature which appears under your posts so we don't have to ask questions about your questions. I cant tell which filter you have. Kindly also Fill out your profile which appears atop your posts.

what?? is that what normal people do ?? spend 50-60$ a WEEK? no way... is that what im signing up for by not doing pucks and shock anymore and strictly liquid chl?
Rural King has chlorine for $16.99 for 4 gallons. My 27,500 pool takes 2 3/4 gallon approx. Per week. That's only $12 per week. You have to shop around for chlorine and NEVER buy from a pool store!
