Hello-
We are approaching our first pool closing for winter (in South Dakota) where we get lots of heavy snow and below freezing temps. We want to leave our 18x9 rectangular pool up. I have been reading on Swim University and have searched this forum for advice. I am not sure about how well the walls will hold up once we drain 6-8" below the inlet/outlets as everywhere recommends. This type of pool gets its wall stability from the water pressing it out. Once water is drained, the walls will bow inward. Additional snow and ice on top might hurt the structure of the poles/walls. Does anyone with a rectangular pool have good advice for us. We want to drain as recommended and cover with a solid cover with a pillow. Thanks!
