Can I upgrade to a different heater?

My hot tub heater just isnt doing the job anymore. It takes about 6 or 8 hrs to heat a 250 gallon tub from 70 to 90.

I was thinking, if I could replace it with something better and more economic I would. But can you even do that???

The heater i have now is this...

Sounds like the heater is probably shot with calcium scale. The only thing I would add is that the second one uses a teflon coated element and, even though they say they don't corrode or scale, that's bogus. Titanium heater elements are the best. Most cheap heaters are made of straight Incoloy (and type of high nickel content steel) or teflon coated Incoloy and those are all inferior to titanium.
