I have an Intex UltraFrame 24 x 12 x 52 with SWG that came with it. We had a horrible time last year keeping the dang thing clean and algae free. Seems like the water didn't circulate enough. Thinking about upgrading to the Intex 2150? Possibly adding a Hayward SP1091LX or WM skimmer? Just don't want to be constantly trying to keep the water clear this year.

While upgrading your pump and filter can't hurt, I doubt it was the major cause of your algae.
Pump/filters can't kill algae, they only remove the dead stuff..
The real key to algae elimination is to follow the TFP principles and keep enough chlorine in your pool.
