    Help Identifying Rope Eye

Long story short. Liner replaced and builder gone unresponsive. So I am trying to identify this to replace it as he threw it away during the replacement. I can tell you that is was plastic/polymer and it is threaded on to a threaded rod sticking out of the side of the wall. Currently the...

SimplePool App for Android. A Review.

FYI it works great on a HP TouchPad. I just installed it tonight so no extensive testing done. Zero issues so far. Will start using it for real tomorrow.

    Adding a small, basic slide

While this is not the inflatable one you mentioned. I don't think I would ever us an inflatable slide for a pool. http://www.wral.com/lifestyles/story/11086560/

Spray on duct tape and liner?

Vacuum was not totally pulled at this point. Also no water. My builder has the liner made just a hair small for the water to do the final stretch when filled.

Spray on duct tape and liner?

It won't be long now. Liner replaced in a matter of hours and filling.

Spray on duct tape and liner?

Ha! You got me. I also have not been over for a refill for my test kit. I knew I was replacing it at the end of last season so I decided to just shut it down over the winter. Also made a conscious decision to not do anything until it was replaced. Every little $ counts these days. It just...

Spray on duct tape and liner?

Well it was finally time to make a change. Pool is pumping out as I type. New liner in a few days. 2 seasons of a scarred oasis is all I can do. Too much dry rot to deal with at this point. I for one will say my ugly patch got me 2 full years of enjoyment more than any of my pool builders...

Spray on duct tape and liner?

So....It is time to bring this back to the top. This "repair" lasted all winter. Over the winter all the spray on tape stayed and none of the holes reappeared. The clear patch in the middle however failed to survive. The patch peeled from the bottom of the hole you can see in these pics all...

Spray on duct tape and liner?

Not sure on those. I ended up going with both the boxer glue and the duct tape. The big hole I patched with a clear boxer patch and the rest of it I sprayed with the duct tape. Initial indications are it works fairly well. I had one little hole that took a fair amout of spray to cover. On...

Spray on duct tape and liner?

Thanks Dave! Don't you think they will throw me out for a duct tape fix also? :-) I'm not worried about a match if I am willing to spray duct tape on it. Anyway. I have liner available to patch which will match. I am out of town tonight. I will checkout my test tomorrow and probably flip a...

Spray on duct tape and liner?

I finally got the stuff to try. Here is the problem. Dry rot, not just a tear as i thought. I didn't look close enough the other day. The liner is 11 years old. Shouldn't it last longer than that before dry rot sets in? Would my high PH over the winter cause this? Acid splash? What...

Spray on duct tape and liner?

Boxer glue. Duh..... Yes, have used it many times under water but now see they have a product for above water. I have just been using the under water stuff above water. Does it make a dig difference?

Spray on duct tape and liner?

Boxer Glue, have not heard of it before but will look into it. This is the duct tape in a can. I was at the autoparts store and saw it. I have not tried it yet. I may just try it on a peice of scrap liner to see what it does first. Will post up either way...

Spray on duct tape and liner?

So my liner is on it's last legs. It is starting to tear in places above the waterline. I have used clear patches on one tear but over time it just comes off. Also there is one kid that i know that just loves to pull on the patches i have in the pool. I just can't catch him. I was wondering if...

Brushing- skimmer off or makes no difference

That they do. I remember as a kid doing that all the time and it was so much fun. We however did not have a drain. Dad just put the vac head down in the middle and it all just disapeared. The most fun was reversing direction when done and trying to go against the current.

attic heat exchangers for pool heating

I am sure that it will work just fine. I however would not want water in my attic. Having been through a run away wash flood I could only imagine what broken pool pluming would do. I have all of my equipment in my garage. My pool is 10 degrees warmer than my neighbors pool at any given time...

think I found the leak...can it be fixed?

Every year I have to tighten the 4-5 nuts and bolts that hold my pump motor to my volute(where the water is?). Tighten these bolts and see if it stops leaking.
