Maybe check that the inducer motor spins freely and isn't making contact with anything else. If it has one. You should also hear it at the beginning before the burners light. Could be bearings too.

The first 2 covers I purchased came with a long white plastic sheet to cover them. Last one I got about a year ago didn't. I ended up buying one on Amazon...kind of a nylon/canvas material. A solar cover off the pool and not protected from the sun will last half as long, in my experience.

Ya sound like the start of liner floating. Was a drain pump installed in a deep shaft by the shell, for high water table relief? If not, you might need one.

Pool heater cover? Or pool bubble cover? Covering a heater would mean it doesn't breathe the way it needs to operate. Fire hazard. I think maybe you mean bubble cover for pool? Check to make sure it isn't impeding flow in the skimmer.

There's something very wrong if it's off that far. Otherwise yes they do seem to be off by about 2 degrees. I have to set mine at 86 to get the pool 84. Hopefully someone can chime in with trouble shooting tips. These heaters are typically very reliable units.

It's possible the pH sitting at 6.8 did that. I've seen liners with that before, but it looked much worse. They had very low pH for some time.

I get mine from Amazon. Are they out too? Got a new one last year this time. They had plenty then.
