Well I ended up with a Polaris proper replacement. I'm going to watch to see how long it lasts compared with the generics and see if it was worth it. I'll report back sometime in the next 6 months to 3 years depending on how this goes.

Where is a good place to buy real parts and not fakes?

Does it matter or should I just buy whatever generics Amazon sells for $15 and be done with it? I do have some generics now but the zippers usually go bad after not very long. Is there anything better than that but is not a Polaris OEM? $25 a bag seems a bit steep for new, but are they twice...

As the least exciting end to this thread I ordered one of the generic 6' ones for $19 on Amazon, it showed up, I connected it, and it does what a hose is supposed to do. Besides brand name does the Polaris one do anything better for $50+ when compared to this?

I don't think they are, there aren't as many 360 tail videos as there are the other models which show they whipping all over the place. The 360 doesn't get as much sweeping motion then?

Here is the unit moving around at full speed with the new Swisher tail attached. I have the screw turned most of the way out again, its not really whipping around like I see in any of the videos. It's slightly more than the old one but nothing to make me think its working right.

It was turned all the way out. There is so much water coming out of the tail when I held it above the water that it shot almost the entire length of the pool, I dont even think I could get any more flow to the tail at this point. It was completely unscrewed when I checked it an hour ago.
