Sounds like a delay function has been enabled. Check your user manual for the Easy Touch to see if you can disable a delay. Normally, things like heaters are on a delay or the delay may be enabled to wait for the main pump to run for a while before the booster pump kicks on for the cleaner.

The Doheny Discovery and the Nautilus Plus (S300) have gotten good recent reviews from TFP members. A smaller robot might do the trick for you as well with that pool volume. I don't have any first hand knowledge but perhaps a Dolphin S100 or similar would be enough for your pool. Use the search...

I myself would go with the newer model. Mostly because I REALLY want a top loading filter assembly. I've heard good feedback here on TFP about the Plus as well. Hard to know how durable, long-lasting the Plus will be over the older model but the company itself has a good track record for robots.

If you're adding chemicals to the pool as recommended and you're not bringing the FC to shock levels, you can run the robot in the pool. If you're adding bleach or muriatic acid, do so in front of a running return while the robot is in the other side of the pool and it would be fine.

My Tigershark is a similarly designed robot. I don't have many issues with tangling. Are you changing the handle position before each time you run it? I don't believe there is a reliable way to add a swivel to a robot that does not have one.

I would guess that the impeller is being obstructed by debris such as string or hair being wrapped around the impeller shaft. Can you remove the top restrictor plate so that you can see the impeller easier and perhaps remove any obstructions?
