I would raise your target FC level for a while. If your CYA is really 30, it won't hurt to run at FC of 5 or 6 and see if chlorine levels hold better at night. With a salt water chlorine generator, your CYA should really be higher though...in the 70-80 range. This will help to buffer against FC...

Clorox Bleach has Cloromax...not good for pools. Switch to plain bleach or liquid shock (plain sodium hypochlorite).

I have a Stenner pump too and I fill up the tank about once every 4-5 weeks using 12.5% sodium hypochlorite from Ocean State Job Lot,($2.99/gal) which is about 2 miles away. The only added risk to liquid chlorine is splashing on your nice clothes, so always change into your crappy clothes...

I believe the Stenner pumps with the rain caps are fine for outdoors...mine is 3 years old and I've had no issues. I do bring the pump into the garage after closing for the winter.

I have a stenner setup, but if I had a SWG I would set the level to whatever maintains my FC at the target level without having to add other chlorine products. Though FC loss will usually go up and down with changing weather and swimmer load, you should be able to determine what level works...

My pool likes an ALK of around 60-70 and I try to keep a fairly low CSI (-.47) since I'm still trying to even out my colored plaster mottling. Pebbletec is much more resilient than regular plaster, so I'm comfortable with this level.

My acid demand has dropped considerable a few years after replastering. I keep my PH on the low side (7.2 ish) and only have to add a little MA every couple of weeks. I wouldn't feel comfortable having a pump handle full strength MA additions in the event of a tubing break or other problem...

I have the fixed rate 10 GPD stenner pump running it on a timer 3 times a day for about 15 min each. The fixed rate pumps are quieter and should last longer.

A Stainless tank should not be impacted too much by a swg, but an older one may be less impervious to corrosion than the newer models depending on the type of ss used.

Mine is set to run 15 min at 8 AM, 25 min at 1 PM and 15 min at 6 PM each day at a rate of about 1 oz per minute. Pool is about 33k gallons gets about 5-6 hours of full sun per day.

Pretty sure you can just go with the next size pump head tubing as a fix to your flow rate.

I'd recommend the 10 gallon per day pump, Stenner 45MPHP10, and also the 15 gal tank. My pool is 33k gallons and I dose 3 times per day for about 15-20 minutes per dose. I'm hoping the pump will last a long time running less than an hour a day.
