    Seriously considering an AGP...

Last year we bought a 15’ round intex. It was fine for me and my 2 kids, or for each of my kids to have a friend over. We loved it so much that this year we bought a hard sided pool, and based on the advice of people here, I upsized to the 18’. It is a very tight fit for the space it’s in, but...

    Pool goes up on Saturday!

The terrible part was trying to keep the rail in place on a concrete pad—I definitely would recommend not installing on concrete but we didn’t have any other place that would work. Setting the wall in the rail and trying to bolt it together was awful, as the rail would move or wall would pop...

    Pool goes up on Saturday!

This has been several weeks of legitimately the most difficult and terrible project ever. But...it’s coming along!

    Build in progress

Heh heh. We’re calling it a night now and the pizza is on the way and the beers are icy cold. This mom is beat! Tomorrow we’ll finish the liner, pump, solar dome, and skimmer and start filling it up.

    Build in progress

We’re 6 hours in on building our 18’ saltwater lx...sunburned and shaky-armed...and I have to say this is the worst project ever. Cutting the foam was a nightmare and if I never hear from my brother or nephew again, I’ll know it was due to the miserable pool wall that had them cursing. We are...

    Is 2” foam board sufficient?

    Pool goes up on Saturday!

I’ll check it. We just took down a 15’ intex that used to be on that same pad, and the intex was level so I’m hopeful. I didn’t account for the liner issue though.

    Pool goes up on Saturday!

I’ll check the concrete for level. It’s the only place we can put it :( I bought a gorilla pad and foam coving. The liner is a unibead—hope this will work. If not, maybe I can raise the floor with house foam stuff?? Thanks for the heads up that it is an all-day project. Sounds like I might...

    Pool goes up on Saturday!

It’s going on a concrete pad, but the pad is all clean and ready to roll

    Pool goes up on Saturday!

I have a giant pallet in my driveway and we’re assembling on Saturday! For those of you who’ve build a pool, how long should I plan on assembly taking? We’ll have 4-5 adults and it’s going on concrete so there’s no ground leveling. It is an 18’ round by 54” deep Saltwater LX.

Whats the best above ground deck mounted pool ladder

Keep us posted if you find anything. I’m having the same problem—so many ladders and other above ground pool things just look plasticky and tacky—no reason they couldn’t make them look a little more streamlined and nice.

    Opinions on this package?

It’s official—just got an email from The Pool Factory that my order has shipped. Now I just need to order my liner and a ladder. I went with the 18’. It is going to be a tight squeeze but worth it I think. Opted for the two speed pump and bought a solar dome to test out. Pool will be on a...

    Unibead liner install- 55 degrees

I’m in the same boat—just waiting for temp to warm up so I can build the pool...so I can have a deck built (well, if I can find anyone to take a small job!)...so I can put up a slide...I can sit by my pool and relax with a drink while my kids splash and play.

    Painting resin

Has anyone ever painted their resin top rails? Thinking of using plastic spray paint matched to the deck color, but not sure how it’ll hold up to water.

    Here we go again

I just googled your liner and I love it—please post pics when you install! Where did you order from?

    Bonding Woes

I’d love a bigger pool :) but 15’ is the biggest I can fit and still meet the city requirement for space between the house and the pool.

    Bonding Woes

Possibly? I’m not sure how to tell and physically I don’t think I could make a bunch of holes in concrete to find out. I’m thinking I may be better off just finding a shorter pool. Although even that makes me a little nervous—it seems like if a 54” pool could shock you, so could a 42”. Maybe too...

    Bonding Woes

Yeah, I realistically don’t have anywhere to store a pool in winter, so technically it would be a permanent pool requiring bonding. Unfortunately I just can’t justify ripping out the pad, nor is it probably in the budget. Back to the drawing board...

    Bonding Woes

Update: A day of very boring research has lead me to believe I either need to a) rip up a perfectly good 20x20 concrete pad, b) find a pool that’s under 42”, c) risk electrocution, or d) give up on pool idea. On a hot tub forum they mentioned solving the bonding issue laying down a bunch of...

Looking for agp with narrow top rail

Good, thanks! I found one brand that doesn’t have big top rails, Crestwood pools, which are pretty but expensive and the installation instructions looked very difficult. So I’m going to go with the saltwater lx from pool factory; the rails are wide but the brown will be less jarring than white...

    Bonding Woes

I have an existing concrete pad in my yard. I plan to put a 15’ above ground pool on it. The pool I’m looking at has resin top and bottom rail and is 54” deep. The pool will have a deck on one side and a waterslide on top of the deck. I’ve read every bonding thread here and I’m still...

Hard wall. I’ve had an Intex for the past two years and it’s great, but im ready to upgrade to something more permanent.

Looking for agp with narrow top rail

Can anyone recommend a good above ground pool with narrow top rails/seats or no top seat thing at all? I’d like something without the big wide top rail.

How did you find an installer?

There are no above-ground pool companies in my area. One local pool company says they can order an above ground pool (it caused them physical pain to say it) but they won't install. I wanted something nicer than a blobby intex-type deal, but it looks like intex will be the winner due to...
