    Where’s the Heat!?

Interesting. It's been different in the Pacific NW the past few weeks. Normal first swimming day is memorial weekend. This year it was 2nd weekend in May. Been swimming almost daily since, except for a few rainy days. So about 2 weeks ahead of the usual here.

Info and Advice on Tankless Water Heaters

I've got a Rennai that was here when I moved in. It's been a great unit. I'll never go back to a regular water heater. Mine is mounted in the garage wall. The other side of it, is outside...it has an internal fan that blows the exhaust out it's side vent to the outside.

I cut Comcast when I moved in 2015. Then did sling TV blue with the Amazon firetv box and Amazon prime video. also have an airtv for over the air channels, similar to the homerun tuner/dvr. Last year I realized pluto.tv which is free and is very much like sling, only real difference is Pluto...

What's your biggest pool "uh oh?"

2 things I almost did and would have regretted: 1. Almost put food grade d.e. in my sand filter. 2. Almost dumped a bottle of yellow out in. This stuff would have added bromine, requiring a complete water change. Close calls!

    Yikes-Be Careful

I was mowing the backyard yesterday, ran over something, then saw what looked like a small dog bone, then it started wiggling. Ran over a BIG garter snake! I felt bad but left it there and ended up being a blue Jay's dinner.

Coming chlorine shortage? - It is Here!

Ya read that. It sounds like it's actually dry chlorine products only. A plant in Louisiana had a fire and shut down last August? Shouldn't affect bleach products...just tabs & powdered shock as far as I can tell.

Wow! That reminded me, my first house with a pool was separated from the road only from a cedar fence. I had thoughts from time to time, what if a car ever crashes through here? My home now with a pool, They would have to drive through my house to get it in the pool. much betta lol

Tired of stuff growing in between my travertine pavers

Vinegar is a great cheap / better for environment weed killer and I use about 2-3 gallons a year. Never heard of adding salt. The acidity alone will kill whatever is sprayed. But ya do be careful and do a small un noticed test area first where stone is a consideration.

    Stone Veneer for House Foundation?

whoa! nice! Kinda reminds me of that faux brick they sold in the 70's each "brick" was the width and height of a standard brick only they were super light and only about 1/4" thick if I recall. It also came with some black stuff you mixed together then applied to the wall as the adhesive.

Letting people use your personal pool when you are not home?

My sister in-law once "invited herself" and a friend over, but she at least asked me before coming over. If I was gone the answer would have been no. But I was home that day so I allowed it. Nobody swims in my pool if I'm not home, PERIOD.

One Good Thing About Losing Trees

Awesome. Kinda wish my backyard neighbor's red pine would fall....(safely on his side). He did pay for a MAJOR branch trimming last fall though. Very grateful for that. The amount of pine needles to deal with has been reduced to about 2/3 of what it used to be.
