I was running RPMs, but recently switched to flow. It's nice to have the option. But just fyi, my pump did not work well to have the system setup to switch modes for different settings. i.e. If you do RPM, do all RPM. If you do flow, do all flow. I just switched to flow on my main pump...

That's the way mine are but my returns are not identical to yours. I would doubt you would have to squeeze them, but you could try that first before banging on it with a screwdriver :)

Hard to tell from the picture, but on mine, the two tabs on the outside rotate clockwise (tighten) or counter-clockwise (loosen) to allow the "eyeball" to move freely or not. I sometimes have to use a flat blade screwdriver against one of the tabs and lightly tap the end of the screwdriver to...

This picture is before mine was an automated valve, but this is the one they are referring too. To the left of the circled valve goes to the spa jets, right goes to the pool. If it isn't fully closing, some will go to the pool.
