i get the point of he water draining from the spa into the pool now. However, when the pump is running, it is set for a slight flow to the spa jets, if i increase that flow to be greater than the amount draining into the pool, won't I get the result of raising that level?

On the step, light on the left side, and drain to pool on the right side. Here is a close up of the actuator on the right side, leaving the pump and filter, going back to a little to the spa jets, and mostly to stair/pool jets.

When looking at the left side, the suction going into the pump. Water is coming from the skimmer and autovac, and actuator has closed the spa suction. The right side, the water flows out of the filter, actuator has a little flow from the spa jets, and fully open to stair jets and pool jets...

Any opinions? I think that second valve is controlling the flow out of the discharge/filter and slightly allowing water into the spa jets, with most of the water going to the stair jets and pool jets.

just the kind of hope I came looking for. Did you use a plunger and just pull it towards the wall? With my wrinkle, it's half way to the wall and half way to the step. Just opened the pool 3 day ago, the water is only 51° , I won't be jumping in today, but hopefully soon.

I have read and seen the video with the plunger, but they all say you need to drain a bit. Were you ever successful with some water on top like mine? Would still appreciate any instructions on how to use that drain, if anyone can advise.
