    FYI. The two gasket solution in the drain cap seems to be holding up fine. No signs of leakage, so I'm just gonna not touch it until I have to :rolleyes:

    I tried a winter plug but I don't have good size that fits in there. Is there a specific size plug that works well? In the meantime I seem to have stopped the leak for the moment, by taking the gasket from my old cap, and putting it under the gasket in the new cap, so now there's two gaskets...

    Yes.. I got a new cap and gasket... I hadn't thought of using a winter plug (presuming you mean the same type of winter plug I also use for winterizing the other pipes). That might be something to try.

    Thanks for the replies. I was worried about running the SWG directly off the timer, so it's good that it's not a problem. My first thought was to just go with a VS pump and run it all the time (just most of the time at low speed). It hadn't occurred to me to by a 2nd timer and run the SWG only...
