Weird. I ordered a pump motor from them and had a super experience this spring. I even had to have a warranty issue addressed, and they jumped all over it. I have nothing bad to relate at all.

I installed the 2.7 two weeks ago. I purchased a larger impeller, seal plate, and diffuser to go with it. One thing I like about the 2.7 is it has an aux power block to power my SWCG, so the SWCG can’t be powered without the pump running.

When you are running your pump, what % setting are you using on your SWCG? 12 hrs is a lot of run time for a T-15 cell. Although my pool has 18% less volume than yours, I’ve calculated I could cut run time to 4 hrs at 100% if I upgraded to a T-15.

What Jim said. I backwashed once last season, and that was at the start when I had to SLAM.

You’re not going to find a relief valve on that filter.

My Hayward filter has 1.5” threaded outlets. I went to a pool store and bought 1.5”x2” unions to hook up to my 2” PVC.

I just went through this myself. I got two 1/5" X 2" threaded unions from a local pool store and used those in place of two of the multiport valve fittings. I also got a 2" X 2" slip joint union and used that on the return pipe. I had to do that because as someone here pointed out to me...

I’ve noted this for quite a while, but I don’t understand it. My filter pressure will actually decrease over time. For example, when the pump first turns on, the pressure will be 15 psi. A few hours later it will be 12 psi. This runs counter to my understanding of how these things work.

That’s an interesting comment, Chief. Could you elaborate a bit? Doesn’t the flow sensor handle whatever the concern is?

My builder installed one on mine, but it's location makes not a nickle's worth of sense to me. It's downstream of everything on the return plumbing.

I've watched the videos and still have this question. What prevents grains of sand and other things you don't want clogging your laterals from entering the standpipe?

I’m running mine (single speed) anywhere from 8-14 hr/day. As best as I can determine, it’s costing me about $130/mo to do that.

The pressure in my filter has not risen enough to justify backwashing (15% incr) in nearly a month. Does this sound right?

I just returned inside from pulling a mouse and a snake out. Both still alive. Gives me the heebie jeebies.

I backwashed until the water in the glass was clear. Same with the rinse.
