Installed new variable speed Pentair today but. . .

11 years ago got rid of the Polaris after we had the pool resurfaced and decking upgraded to travertine. Bought a TurboT robot which lasted 9.5yrs and bought another to replace it when the pump died. Left all the plumbing in place for the polaris, but I can't see ever going back. The Polaris...

Do I need this flow gauge?

The objective of the swim jets is to stay in one place while swimming and each swimmer is likely to want a different setting. The flow gauge was probably used to determine a setting for the swim jets. It looks like a Pentair variable speed pump on the system. If its just used for a fountain...

How I reduced my electric bill

Maybe a better comparison is the kWh usage over a month's period of time. 15.77 kWh avg this particular month with a temperature range between 75F to 96F as a high. .................................................. ...

How I reduced my electric bill

Thought I'd share some of the ways I was able to reduce our electric bill without adding solar panels. We have PG&E and folks on the Nextdoor forum with a pool are complaining of electrical bills coming close to $1,000/month and most are about half that. Our monthly bill is under $130/M. -...

SPA jets flow water but no bubbles

Only 4 jets. Thanks again for the great advice! Looks like it just sits on top of the breather tube. Not very expensive either. Probably best to add a circuit breaker and run a separate 240 power supply from the control box with a 1 or 1 1/2 HP motor rather than wiring directly to the Jet...

SPA jets flow water but no bubbles

Thanks for the great advice... I pulled the eyeballs out for now and the bubbles fire right up! Any suggestions for a good blower? The pad is about 70 feet from the pool, so I'm thinking it might need a larger one.

SPA jets flow water but no bubbles

You were right...removing the eyeball nozzles cleared the water from the line and the bubbles started up. Any ideas to releave the backpressure beside leaving the eyeball nozzels off? It is the same pump and there was also 2" jet lines previously. I did not see a Hartford loop in the 1 1/2"...

SPA jets flow water but no bubbles

I used a wet vac as Just-a-PB recommended and was able to get the jets working. Then I let it set for a few minutes and tried it without the vac and it would not draw air...same as before. I have a theory that the 1 1/2" upsized pipe installed by the PB is causing the problem. The vacuum...

SPA jets flow water but no bubbles

Thanks for the fast reply...quicker than the PB ever replies.... I won't go there... No valve on the air pipe. No blower either. The flow is strongest on the first jet and less on the 4th. Fairly strong on all of them. What do you think about capping off the first 3 jets and pressurizing...

SPA jets flow water but no bubbles

Just had the whole pool replumbed and plastered. Hooked up the SPA jet pump today and found only one jet had bubbles coming out. After priming the system fully, no bubbles are coming out of any of the jets. Any thoughts on what the issue might be? thanks in advance...

Jacuzzi air intake have a special termination screen?

Just had the pool replumbed and the jacuzzi air intake for the jets was upgraded to a 1 1/2" pipe running back to the pad. Previously I had a 1" pipe that just had a couple of 90* turns so the terminating pipe was aimed down and nothing else. Now that there is a 1 1/2" pipe, I'm more concerned...

    Filter flow rates

Doing some research on the lowest head loss for a large capacity quad cartridge filter. I plan to replace my undersized StaRite. I was going to go Jandy CV580 until I compared the specs to other brands. Attached are the flow rates from the companies filter manuals. The Waterways doesn't have a...
