    Compool to EasyTouch Power Problem

I said I was inclined to go with the breakers in my home’s power panel, neglecting the fact that I already checked and have power to the cutoff switch/outlet at the pad, so the problem has to be in the Pentair box.

    Compool to EasyTouch Power Problem

Yeah, like I said, I’m not in a position to readily start taking voltage readings, etc. When you say bad breaker, are you referring to the breakers in the main electrical panel, or the little breakers on the actual EasyTouch transformer panel? If the former, that is what I’m inclined to go...

    Compool to EasyTouch Power Problem

Years ago, I upgraded my old Compool CP3800 control panel with the EasyTouch upgrade. I've also had issues with the EasyTouch board being sensitive to voltage spikes during storms, causing me to have to replace the upgrade board a couple of times. Even though I installed a surge protector in...

    Non-Operable Valve Actuators

Thanks, ajw2. Very informative. I pulled the transformer connector from the board and measured. Couldn’t get a read from the 18 and 24 pins. Pulled the transformer and proceeded to measure across the breakers. Had all three voltages at that point so I reassembled. The actuators began...

    Non-Operable Valve Actuators

I'm running on a Pentair Compool to Easytouch 8 upgrade controller. Last winter the valve actuators would only operate when I opened the control panel door. The installer left a lot of cable wadded up in there - I looked everywhere for a short but didn't find anything obvious. Now, it seems...

    Pentair VF Pump Blowing Air

Actually, it’s the VSF. Pentair sticker from the box looks like it was from 3/2021. I bought it in April of that year. I guess that I just never noticed the wind this thing put out…. I’ll assume everything is okay, then. Thanks to all who responded.

    Pentair VF Pump Blowing Air

Well, of course not, but I thought maybe it was a symptom of something else going on - like if it was running more dry than wet, but I was getting flow. ajw22 stated above that there is a fan in the back of these pumps. My concern is why did it just seem to start blowing (or over-heating) today?

    Pentair VF Pump Blowing Air

DBB, The fan on the IntelliFlo sucks air in from the motor end and I suspect that is what you are feeling at high speed. This has nothing to do with air under the pump lid.. There is no magically way air in the water could get out of the pump and could be felt blowing on your leg. Thanks...

    Pentair VF Pump Blowing Air

It was hard to tell, but I'd say probably. As mentioned, it seemed like it was from below the control panel, and immediately in front of it, but all from the motor end of the pump. My concern is, during the hot Texas summer I never felt a breeze from the pump at all like I did today - it was...

    Pentair VF Pump Blowing Air

When I put my my newish (<2 years old) Pentair VF pump into high speed for vacuuming today, it began blowing a lot of air from around the motor somewhere. I couldn't pinpoint it, but it seems to be coming from somewhere under the control display box. I do not see any water leaks anywhere. I'm...

Variable Speed Pump and Freeze Protect

Apologies if this has been addressed, but as a victim of the big Texas freeze and having had to replace all my pool equipment as a result… Common sense would tell me to set for high RPMs, but as the new owner of a variable speed pump, what is the best practice for running in freeze mode...

Easytouch / Single Speed Pump Replacement Issues w/ Intelliflo

I opened up the box today, and yep, the pool guy still had the Intelliflo wired to the relay. In fact, I don't even think he was in the box at all and just wired at the pump from the existing whip and called it a day. Anyway, after pulling the old pump relay and wiring the Intelliflow straight...

Easytouch / Single Speed Pump Replacement Issues w/ Intelliflo

Yeah, that was my point - it’s been wired incorrectly and only gets powered in the one, main pool mode. I think I’ll go ahead and remove the old pump relay, just to get it out of the way if nothing else. And I’ve located a Compool wiring diagram, which should help me sort out the jumble of...

Easytouch / Single Speed Pump Replacement Issues w/ Intelliflo

Got home and ran out before it got dark. When put into service mode, the pump display says something like "Alarm, loss of power," then goes dark. But then, if I hit the Filter button, the display lights up and gives the initial 0 RPM, so control seems to be returned to the pump. One thing I...

Easytouch / Single Speed Pump Replacement Issues w/ Intelliflo

Thanks, Jim, Yes, the old single speed filter pump definitely was on its own relay, as it would sometimes stick on in during winter…. The other three relays service the 2nd pump, the lights, and the spa aerator. I have no electrical sub-panel at the equipment location. Everything was added to...

Easytouch / Single Speed Pump Replacement Issues w/ Intelliflo

So, some time back, I upgraded my Pentair Compool box with the Easytouch 8 upgrade, and all was well. This panel upgrade kept the Compool Cp3400 transformer panel. Recently, I replaced the single speed pump with an Intelliflow VSF. While I have an initial program working to turn the filter...

Proper PVC to Use at Pad

Thanks, everyone. Nice looking pad, Cowboy. I saw several folks that say to paint PVC to give an extra level of UV protection. I like the thoughts of having a dark color like you used, but was wondering about using a dark color with our hot, southwest sun. You've not noticed any ill effects...

Proper PVC to Use at Pad

I'm having to re-do my pad after The Big Chill here in Texas, and am shopping for PVC. Almost all the schedule 40 I see has printing, barcodes, etc. which I don't want. The shiny, unmarked, UV resistant sch. 40 stuff that I've found is not NSF rated (I've read this this rating is important for...

    Pool Cloud App Defunct?

Thanks, smracing; will take a look. Can you provide a link to the app? Only Pool Pal I'm finding is a phone app for competitive swimmers. Were you referring to Aqua Pal, by chance?

    Pool Cloud App Defunct?

Yes, I had looked at pool math, but I haven't been able to find an app for it. Can run it from iOS Safari, but it doesn't seem to keep history. Folks had recommend the PoolCloud app, and it was an extension of Pool Dr., which was supposedly used commercially (1.0 FC is a minimum value...

    Pool Cloud App Defunct?

For several weeks, I've been unable to log into PoolCloud from my iPad. The reset password option doesn't work, either. I see similar posts on the PoolCloud Facebook page, with no response from the developer. Is it defunct? Anyone else been using this and having issues? is there a better...

Any way to have budget automation/remote control

You may want to check out Autelis.com for their EasyTouch pool control module. I've recently added one, and it works pretty well, plus I don't need a PC to be on all the time, which is what a Pentair tech told me the ScreenLogic Protocol Adapter required. Setup is easy, as you only need to...

    DIN Outlet in Load Center

Yes, it will be tight, but I have a flat, right-angle plug that should work. While the DIN outlet has some depth to it, it doesn't appear to be any deeper than some of the other things in there. Probably won't work, but I'll just have to try it. It would be a great solution to my problem if...

    DIN Outlet in Load Center

Thanks, gwegan, but I'm not sure I follow... The DIN outlet would mount inside the enclosure, on the high voltage side. I probably wasn't clear, but the small piece of gear I'm plugging in (Autelis controller) would be buttoned up inside the enclosure, too, so nothing would remain open. I...

Does my pool need two LED color lights?

Looks pretty interesting, but seems to only help those with screw-in light types. Any relief for those of us using the Pentair SAM/SAL, or other pool-branded lights? It's nice to be able to control the lights from the remote and/or pool controller.

    Actuator Cable Length limit

I didn't realize that the cable plugged into the valve - never really inspected that part, and thought it was molded in. I had the opposite issue - my valves are all at the pad, thank goodness, but I had a LOT of excess valve actuator cable wadded up inside my load center enclosure, which was...

    DIN Outlet in Load Center

I want to add some electronics out at the equipment pad, and will need to plug in the power adapter somewhere. I was thinking about adding a DIN outlet to the rail inside my Compool enclosure, which should house everything nicely. Has anyone done this, and if so, have you had any issues? On a...
