Chris, It has not been moved recently. The unit is 8-10 years old and taking off the cover doesn't really make it clear whether it's the impeller or the motor. I see there are couplings connected. Is the next step to pull it out at the next water change? Are there bearing kits available?

I believe that a heavy coat dielectric grease would prevent corrosion. It does on battery terminals and electrical connections, and considering the space is enclosed it would probably last for a long time.

That's a good point. Maybe it would be better to use galvanized, and cover the bolts with grease after?

As a followup to this, the 1.65 is awesome. I run it 12 hours overnight at 800 rpm (120 watts), then 10 hours at 1600 rpms to generate chlorine, and then 2 hours every evening on high for the heck of it. My bill is 25% of what it used to be and all is well.

I'll call them. Nothing personal to the moderators, however I know that there is always a tendency to stay away from potential liability. Sometimes a logical solution exists anyway. It is hard to believe that everyone just repours the slab considering that epoxy bolts are sold by inyo.

My diving board anchor bolts are horribly rusted. I've found that my local fastenal has 1/2" anchor wedge bolts with a pull out strength of 4,400 pounds each. That seems sufficient, so what do you think about it as an option?
