Well I got to do another hour and a half before I had to call it the day and hear is where I ended up. I guess I should scour a line on the inside of the skimmer. So the fiberglass breaks off in a clean way?

I would have thought the same, but we are in a very sandy soil. I think when they did the pressure testing it opened up the hole a bit or more likely blew out some dirt that was plugging the hole. Water loss increased after the pressure testing.

They tested all the lines except the main drain line, so I hope I'm good for awhile with those lines. The water level has stop going down, now that it is below the skimmer leak.

Another hour and a half of work and I'm starting to get the pipes exposed.

The leak detection company tested every line except for the very bottom of the pool and I think they could not test that because the skimmer was not holding pressure.

Wish I could unfortunately most of the pool's lines whether it's return or intake are all copper. What's weird is the skimmer is copper then it transitions into p, v, c, but somewhere underneath the slab.It transitions back to copper and comes up at my pump.

This was just a quick test to see if the water level outside the bucket was dropping faster than the water level inside the bucket. The concrete might have absorbed some but since I lost so much water on the outside of the bucket kinda proved that the pool was leaking.

Might look like that from the picture.But if you put your hand over the hole and feel where the water is coming out it's actually smooth.

I'm guessing it was built in the 80ies or early 90ies. Weird for copper to wear out with no pressure on it.

No I just went off with the leaked detection company stated. I found the leak and water is still flowing out and a very slow rate, but it's still coming out.

Ok so the leak detection company came out and they think it the skimmer. So is this a easy job or not so much? They quoted me 2500. I see i can get one for about 200ish and it seems strait forward, cut the concrete around the skimmer bust it all out replace with new skimmer patch pool plaster...

The only way that I think I'm going to be able to tell were it is leaking is when the pool stops losing water, I think off the top of my head it goes the return lines then the light and of course my worst nightmare the bottom of the pool. Is there a better way then what I'm thinking?

"I would be highly suspicious of your skimmer." That's what I would have thought also. But the fact that the water level is now 3 to 5 inches below the skimmer intake. I almost got to rule the skimmer out.

Hi All, I am trying to figure out what to do bout my water return? As you can see from the pictures it's falling apart. Is there a way to patch this, or does the whole need to be jackhammered out and remade? Is that even possible? Thanks
