Jandy SWG pre 2007 - trying to go saltwater again

Hi all, Have a pre 2007 Jandy SWG system that was not working when we purchased the house in 2013. I have been using the TFP method for chlorine and it is great, but I have decided to try to restart using the SWG system. It was giving an error code which I don't remember and beeping loudly...

First test: New mini pebble start up...need help for low CH

Thanks again...my pool is 15k gallons. Looks like my CSI as it stands is right at 0 which I assume is pretty good. Going to just hold steady if my pH holds and not add any CA increaser and see what levels move.

First test: New mini pebble start up...need help for low CH

Finally seems pretty close to being dialed in but have a question about CH still... Fc 1.6 (haven't added since yesterday) pH 7.6 TA 95 CH 210 CYA 40 (Finally!!!!) So questions are what target CH should I shoot for? 250? 300? 350? Is 7.6 a good pH or should I go a bit lower to 7.4? Also going...

First test: New mini pebble start up...need help for low CH

Just took another round of tests and FC up to 1.5, pH looks close to 8.0 with only 2 drops for acid demand to 7.5 range. TA and CH remained same at 110 ppm each and CYA still at zero as it will take a while to dissolve and register with the sock method. I added 16oz of acid so hoping it will...

    Renovation in SoCal

Today they started on the BBQ island. We are going poured concrete polished top with a nice raised overhang to accomodate bar height stools. Our previous granite top was at a weird height that would not fit counter or bar height stools, so we never got to enjoy sitting at the bbq island. They...

    Renovation in SoCal

Coping is dark grey belecrete. The concrete deck was existing and is a medium shade of brown if I were to guess. It is 12+ years old but didn't have budget to demo and repour it, so we tried to get stone that would tie in the grey coping and brown concrete

Trouble with older Jandy Color changing lights

I have the same lights and if you open it, you will see about 8 separate white bulbs with colored glass lenses over them. The colors are formed by turning on a different combination of lights to achieve the color. I found that I had a few of the lights burnt out, so just put some new bulbs in...

Thanks for the kind words. So the tile is from Mastertile Empire Mix MAS EM 121. It was very affordable yet very nice looking..it was around $9/sq ft and they are located in Anaheim. They actually have a very impressive line up of tile in their showroom and I just found them by searching for...

    Renovation in SoCal

Prep work finished. They had to chip away quite a bit as the bellecrete is thicker than the stone that was there before. Also dropped level a couple inches down to level of the spillway and had to pour concrete to eliminate grab rail around jacuzzi edge and make it flush for tile. They also...

    Pool Plaster Reno

Wow I think that is a huge rip off. I'm in Los Angeles and am doing an upgrade mini-pebble finish (Tropics Blue) on my pool that is a total of 474 sq ft including tile and all demo for $7,000. If I was to do a plaster it would be around $4,000

Thanks guys. It was pretty crazy for the demo as they brought a big diesel motor into the driveway and set up a line to the backyard to power their hand tools with a huge manifold to distribute the power. They ended up having 8 guys and had the plaster and tile all done in about 3 hours...

Hi all.. Just started renovating our about 12 year old in-ground gunite pool. Purchased the home 4 years ago and had to deal with horrible flaking of coping stone as well as cratering of the plaster inside the pool. Also have had to slowly replace some of the Jandy pool equipment. First...

New spa jet booster pump advice needed

Current Jandy Stealth 1.5hp spa booster jet just went dead. I already had swapped out my previous one for the one I took from my main filter when I went with a Pentair VSP. Am thinking I want to stick with Pentair for this pump and only need it to power 6 spa jets...which would you recommend...

Pool remodel....should I go back to SWG

Ok so I tested and the transformer is bad, not just the cell. My SWG is very old as it was the Chlormatic 3 system. It consisted of a small back board and larger front board with the LCD readout screen. So I assume my best bet as suggested above is to purchase the whole new Jandy aquapure...

Pool remodel....should I go back to SWG

I did search and read a lot about it being the old trisensor 99% of the time. Thanks for the link to workbook as I will now test the transformer as well as trying to see if unplugging the sensor will clear the error before I decide what to do. Thanks again for all your help

Pool remodel....should I go back to SWG

So just to test out my system, I plugged everything back in to identify the error code i was getting. My Jandy SWG system is giving error 170. This was the same error when we purchased the house with the non-functioning system, but I have since upgraded the PCB to the iaqualink 2.0 with newest...
