Fill water CH is 100. Been topping off couple times a week cause its 100 degrees here with lots of sun and no rain for past month.

I use liquid stabilizer found at pool store. Yes it is a little more expensive but you get quicker results without having to squeeze a sock several times a day. All you do is pour it into the skimmer.

Yeah it raised it 50ppm instead of 10ppm. Next time I will only add one third and see what I get. This is only the second time I had to add baking soda to raise TA this summer.

TA was at 70 and set goal at 80 on Pool Math. Added the 1 pound 12 ounces of baking soda Pool Math said to add with pump and APC running tested an hour later now I got TA of 120. What's up with that?

I keep 8.25% bleach and muriatic acid on hand. I add bleach every night and little muriatic acid every couple days .

Went to pool store today for case of MA so decided to take sample water with me to get a laugh. A month ago they said my CYA was 90. Today they say its 45. How can it go from 90 to 45 without partial drain and refill, haha They said my PH was 8.0. I checked before going to store and it was 7.5...

When adding MA i scoop 5 gallon bucket water from pool and add right amount of MA to bucket then pour around perimeter of pool then use 24" wall brush to stir it around while pump is running.

Well now that the grand kids have gone home it looks like a war zone now...ha, but they had a great time

Hey Billy, I do the same thing and I have a sparkling clear pool. Little 8.25% bleach at sundown daily and little MA every other day or so. So easy once you get things balanced out at the start.

When I do CYA test with the TF-100 kit i get different results (20 then 35 then 30) using the instruction video. I keep doing it with the same sample 3 -4 times and just do an average from the test.

I bet pool stores have screwed up more pools then one could imagine. That's their way of selling you more junk you don't need at all especially if you go the BBB route. Glad I found this site the same time I purchased house with pool. Had it re-plastered 6 weeks ago and couldn't ask for more...

Yeah, I get about 9 hours sunlight on pool daily now and its up around 90 degrees here in Dallas area. Will try pucks since I don't have any stabilizer on hand. Thanks :)

I use 10% chlorinated liquid purchased from Lowe's with good results. Test hold true after adding. My daily cost of adding it is around $1.29 daily (adding around 5 cups daily) I'm losing about 2 to 3 ppm daily with only 0.5-1ppm lose overnight. CYA around 30-35. Thinking about bumping up CYA...

Yeah, trust your own test. Had one pool store (kid) test my CYA he said it was at 100 then he had his co-worker test it and he said it was at 35. My testing shows about 30. Same with CH they said it was 180, I show 250 with my TF-100 kit so I will stick to my own test results.

I figured my Taylor K-2006 might be old since it was cover in dust from pool store shelf. Then I decided to go with what most everyone else here uses.The TF-100 along with the Speed-Stir which is a way cool device.

Yep jblizzle you are correct I used 25ml mark on bottle with Taylor kit and 10ml mark on bottle with TF-100 kit. Maybe the reagent for the CH test is bad in the Taylor kit. I bought it a month ago but who knows how long its been sitting on shelf.

Just got my new TF-100 kit and Speed-Stir in mail today and ran all test with it. Then ran all test with my Taylor K-2006 kit. Everything is really close except for the CH. TF-100 read 275 Taylor K-2006 read 220 Pool store tells me 183 Replastered a month ago and the pool sparkles like diamonds...
