Warranty Question - buying Dolphin via Amazon storefront

Thanks both. What makes it more confusing is that, in the case of a warranty issue, I don't believe Doheny's would actually be involved. I'm assuming they would just direct me to Maytronics where they would handle the claim. That's where I get nervous - Maytronics may have fine (ultra fine)...

Warranty Question - buying Dolphin via Amazon storefront

Does anyone know if there is a difference in warranty support when you buy a Dolphin directly from a pool store vs. their storefront on Amazon? My specific example is the Doheny Advantage Ultra which is $899 directly from Doheny, yet is $849 on Amazon from the Doheny storefront. I can't seem...

    Automation - Intellicenter Price Quotes

@MyAZPool - thank you again for your extremely helpful response. I am going to order the IntelliCenter and am really looking forward to it! Not 100% sure if I'm going to order the intelliph at this time - still going back and forth on this one. Thanks again! - - - Updated - - - @Motozoic...

    Automation - Intellicenter Price Quotes

@MyAZpool - thank you so much for the great and helpful response - the IntelliChem is not something I need in this setup. It sounds like since I will have the intellicenter and intellichlor, the intelliph will remain essentially standalone for the time being with no real integration. If I...

    Automation - Intellicenter Price Quotes

My previous question was around intelliph integration - I am simply asking if the intellichem is necessary when you have the intellicenter (I didn’t think it was but I could certainly be wrong). I’m confident with the intellicenter system outside of this.

    Automation - Intellicenter Price Quotes

Thanks everyone, your replies are very helpful and appreciated. I called Polytec and got a quote - they are very helpful and nice. The plan right now (subject to change of course) is to buy the Intellicenter i8 (pool + spa) + IC60 + the intelliph which I discovered while building this system...

    Automation - Intellicenter Price Quotes

Thanks, but that search is for the EasyTouch, not the IntelliCenter. Lots of vendors for the EasyTouch, not so much for the Intellicenter, at least that I can see.

    Automation - Intellicenter Price Quotes

Hi everyone, I am heading down the path of automation and looking at the Pentair Intellicenter. Am needing the pool + spa combo with the salt cell (IC 40) and probably the 8 relays since I believe the cost is only slightly more than the 5. However, I'd like to get several price quotes to...

    Help! Dolphn Flipping

As an update, it turns out that the Dolphin Nautilus we bought was missing two critical Styrofoam pieces that help control its buoyancy. If you happen to have the same problem, you can buy them from the INYO pools website at these links: http://www.inyopools.com/Products/14701352075177.htm...

    Help! Dolphn Flipping

Hi everyone, I have a Dolphin Nautilus pool cleaner that flips over very frequently. This typically happens in the shallow end of the pool and essentially makes its useless as intended. Its basically impossible for us to drop it in the pool, turn it on, and let it do its thing without waiting...

Thanks @Divin Dave -- how hard would this be to do?

Help! Installed New Pump - will not hold prime

Was able to get the pump running late last night by bypassing the prime in the control panel and just having the pump pull until water started flowing (I know this is not the ideal solution but had to get the pump running and it worked). Set the pump for a low speed (1250 rpm) and went to bed...

Help! Installed New Pump - will not hold prime

Update for tonight - cannot even manually prime pump. loading the basket with water, but it won't stay full. Pump comes on, tries to prime for about 3 seconds and shuts off. I'm at a complete loss for what to do. My pool will be green in no time if I can't get this pump running.

Help! Installed New Pump - will not hold prime

Thanks @duraleigh, that's a great point. I should point out we have had some recent issues with small leaks on the sand filter, and recently replaced the main o-ring under the air relief assembly...there may be some other o-rings we should replace as well that aren't showing an "obvious" leak...

Help! Installed New Pump - will not hold prime

Thanks @Crackerjack4u - all PVC connections here, but your point is well taken. We are going to check all the connections carefully to make sure they are all tight and secure.

Help! Installed New Pump - will not hold prime

the fact that this water drop was happening with the old pump and now the new pump leads me to theorize it may not be isolated to the direct pump connections

Help! Installed New Pump - will not hold prime

Thank you @duraleigh - I will be sure to to check everything again but when I look at our new connections everything "looked" ok. I'm concerned because even with the old Wisperflo the basket wouldn't stay full of water after the pump turned off. And when it did turn on, it took a good 30...

Help! Installed New Pump - will not hold prime

Thanks @Killer95Stang - appreciate the reply. I've never installed a check valve, is that difficult? I'm still concerned that fundamentally there must be a leak somewhere. I can't understand how a closed loop system would allow water to move unless air was getting in somewhere.

Help! Installed New Pump - will not hold prime

Hi Everyone, Yesterday I completed (or so I thought) our first DIY pump swap, removing the old Whisperflo for a new Intelliflo. Everything went well, pump was installed, got it primed, and ran the pump for the remainder of the night schedule as I had programmed. Fast forward to this morning...

New Intelliflo installed - SWG now won't turn off

Hi Everyone, I just completed my first DIY pump install today in which I replaced my Wisperflo with our new Intellflo. Everything went well and we seemed to be up and running. Tonight, I went outside to check on everything and make sure the pump was turning off as scheduled - it did...

What is a reasonable price to replace a pool pump (install cost only)

Thanks @Agent 99 - I'll see if I can get some pictures to post the setup....but it is what I would consider pretty straight-forward in terms of plumbing

What is a reasonable price to replace a pool pump (install cost only)

@Divin Dave - I've got the unions already so good to go there. It's really just the uncertainty since I've never done this before. I'd hate to get halfway through and get "stuck"

What is a reasonable price to replace a pool pump (install cost only)

Hi everyone, Looking for opinions on what a reasonable price would be to replace an existing pool pump with a variable speed (**note installation price only). Basically I'm trying to see if I should just do it myself or leave this one to the pros. I've had one quote that was just north of...

Trying to fix air assembly leak on my Sand Filter TR100

Thanks @MitchRyan912 - I'm surprised how tricky it is to find this (exact matching) part given how common I thought the TR100 (and related products) were.

Trying to fix air assembly leak on my Sand Filter TR100

Thanks @bobodaclown - but that is for the "C" model which is not the one I have. When you look at the equivalent part (that I can find) for the TR100 it doesn't seem to come with the plastic housing (which is the part that is actually leaking on my filter).

Trying to fix air assembly leak on my Sand Filter TR100

Hi everyone, I have a Triton TR100 sand filter, and I noticed the other day that the little clear plastic part at the top of the filter where the pressure gauge is located is leaking. It looks like there are 2 or 3 pinhole sized leaks, and while it doesn't look like a major leak of water I...

    Advice on Intelliflo V/S

OP here...appreciate everyone's feedback. Very interesting to me that there are two distinct schools of thought on the topic. Honestly not sure what to do at this point. The people that have the Intelliflo clearly love it, while if I just switched out the existing motor it would still cost me...

    Advice on Intelliflo V/S

Honestly, I'm not sure. I don't have any experience with this so trying to learn as much as I can and figure out what is the best long-term solution. I should also point out the existing pump is probably 8-10 years old at this point (not sure what the typical lifespan is).
