    Screenlogic won't connect in windows

Thanks Tgokaydin. Worked like a charm. I tried all the suggestions from updating, removing and re--adding, pushing resent button 3 times, moving the adapter closer to the control panel and nothing worked. Until your suggestion and it started right away. Thank you for posting.

    Significant Builder Delays

We were lucky but it is our second build this the same company. Contract signed mid December and excavation started early April. My pool builder warned me that gunite supply was an issue in Houston due to COVID and some suppliers closing down shop all together. I was prepared for an open pit...

Clarification on Ozone vs. UV---High daily FC loss

Krysib, Once you get the FC loss addressed, I'm in Houston and with Texas summer with heat and sun, I found if I bumped my CYA to 90 starting in mid July and kept it there for 2 months FC held better. Then starting in October I would let CYA drift back down to 60 using drain and rain water...

    Pentair ic40

Mj36, Interesting I experienced the same exact problems with my Pentair IC40 which was about the same age. Sometimes the Flow light would be red and other times it woudl turn green. While green I knew it was working since the bubbles were coming out of the return. I looked inside the SWG...

    SWG Texas Summer Questions

lardo5051: I'm in Houston and at this time of year I bump my CYA to 80 and starting mid July bump it up to 90 through mid September. It requires you to monitor FC very closely with the FC/CYA chart with higher CYA you will need to bump up your FC levels (I switch from 1 time a week to about...

    Hi Texas!

I have a SWG but still use pucks during the off-season and for the purpose of raising CYA (gives my SWG a rest) to then kick on the SWG again. I keep it around 60-70 this time of year and raise it 10 ppm each month through August and then let if fall back down so it gets to around 40ppm in...

    Pentair IC40 swap to IC60

I don't have it in front of me but I seem to remember that the Pentair manual says to be sure to cut power first. I would trip the breaker at the box and then do the swap. Again, going from memory.

    Polaris 380 Sluggishness

With my pool at my previous home I had the Polaris 280 and when it did this I would pull the top cover to ensure all hoses were still zip tied as required. I would find one that had worked its way loose. Also, I would replace the wheels because the gears may look fine but it does not take much...

Cleaner Booster Pump Loosing Prime? A fix I think? Comments?

Sorry folks been out on vacation but JamesW is absolutely correct. I was referring to suction line on the booster pump (1" or so in diameter). I went ahead a rechecked the o-ring on the main pump to ensure there was no debris. I ran the system and the clear basket lid on the pump was clear...

Cleaner Booster Pump Loosing Prime? A fix I think? Comments?

For the past couple of days I've noticed my Pentair cleaner has not been moving. I hear the booster pump is on but it is struggling. The suction line to the pump is warm and when I remove it no water at all so my pump is overheating. So far no seal leak. I shut it all down and restart the...

    Another New Pool - N.Houston

I would add Screen Logic 2 its fantastic when the wife and I are out at dinner and we decide to get in the hot tub. Pull out the phone and fire up the tub and it is ready by the time we get home. No wait time. I would also second the SWG. This is my first experience with one and I will...

Test results after 4 days of hurricane

Glad to see you all made it through. In September 2017, with Hurricane Harvey alot of us in Houston did not fair as well. With some places over 60 inches of rain we had severe flooding in homes, etc. Our pump was submerged too and wait until it is completely dry before you turn it back on...

New build - Katy, TX (near Houston)

Great pool design and color choices. I have a SWG and use my in line chlorinator during the winter months to add tabs and in the early spring to get my CYA up. It's also a plus when you travel. The SWG is fantastic though. My builder used the integrated drain with the pavers for a more...

Houston (Katy) Pool Build - Started April 2016

Our tile came from Keystone Tile off of Hwy 290 in Houston. It was called "Light" which is more like a light tan. I think the white that philboyj used is fantastic but our house colors were a little different. As to the durability issue? This is tumbled travertine and not porcelain tile, so...

I may have missed it but how did you address Houston's storm water discharge requirements with respect to impervious surfaces?

Where do you even start? Post Harvey flood waters

The pool is back post Hurricane Harvey. It took a little time but all stains have been removed. The water was so high the 2 blue pots in the foreground were submerged. We will work on replacing the flowers next weekend.

    Removing Large Pool Stains

I live in Kingwood Texas which was hit hard by Hurricane Harvey. Working on balancing my pool but given the circumstances I'm quite pleased at where it currently stands. I have two questions. First, other than my test kit (which I should have a replacement today) how do I know the water is...

Where do you even start? Post Harvey flood waters

Keep the faith. I live in Kingwood Texas and had almost 3 feet of water in my home. Surprisingly, my pool pump and booster pump survived. My heater had to be replaced. My pool was dark brown, with small fish, frogs and one small turtle. I began the TFP technique again and daily brushed...

    New Pool Build Kingwood TX

Pool cabana almost done. With all the permitting requirements in Houston, if you lot is greater than 15,000 square feet add an additional 2-3 months for any project which requires an impervious surface. Hopefully done by first football game. I have 4 in-ceiling speakers in the cabana all...

    Intellichlor IC40 Issues Or Not?

In TX, I keep my CYA close to 80 to 90 and then my IC40 does a much better job of keeping up. With your size pool the IC40 is okay but when mine goes I'm going with the IC60. Definitely perform a OCLT first if pass then maybe increase CYA.

New pool -- Switch from Chlorinator to Pentair IC40

I stand corrected. When I ordered my Pentair IC40 I was not provided with a manual and a quick Google search turned up a manual which may have been from 2007, maybe. I could have saved myself some time by not installing the check valve and not restricted my water flow too. I'll keep it since...
