Upon pump start up, my cartridge filter leaks for about 10 seconds then completely stops. I've used a health amount of magic lube on the O ring, and that seems to help a little. Not sure if this is normal or not (I suspect that it is not.) Is it time just for a new O ring?

Yes, the water was that high previously. It's beena while though as I thought brushing or rain water would help clean it. Should I brush with some more diluted acid and put additional elbow grease in it? Anyway to prevent this from happening? Also wondering if my CH is too high or too low?

The pink (if CCs are present) is definitely noticeable though, right? I just have never seen it, so I'm starting to question myself.

When testing for CC with the TF-100, how pink does the water turn if you have any CC? I suspect that it turns back to the original bright pink. I've never had that happen, which is likely due to my light load and SWG. Just checking.

Maybe that's a bad description. It's not soft, it's hard but glossy looking. Reminds me of stalagmites in caves.

Not completely sure. Its somewhat slimy/glossy looking -- doesn't appear to be left over salt residue.

Hi All, Is there a "proper" way to inspect the bottom of an automatic pool cleaner that doesn't suck air in? Should I not be running the pump when I do this? Currently, I pull it out of the water for 15-30 seconds, look at it and put it back in. Air does get sucked in, however I am not sure...

I never have, but hard to know what's been done in the last 9 years. I don't think it's algae, FC is 6.5 and CC is 0. Do you think it's a metal stain? Anything that can be done?
