    Replacing My MasterTemp 400 (Propane)

Thanks for that sage advice! I’ll add that I also use the Pentair Easytouch panel and control my pool lights, spa, and pump with the Pentair app. Spa heater compatibility with my system is a must and I’d love to discover if competitors have a form, fit, and function heater that replaces the...

    Replacing My MasterTemp 400 (Propane)

Florida Space Coast resident here in east central Florida … are there competing models that support Pentair’s automation control panel. Looking for the most affordable solution to accommodate my constrained budget. I may even endeavor to do a self install.

    Best way to test salt?

Get yourself Aquacheck Salt Titration test strips, they are very reliable and provide more accurate readings than an SWG readout which can be very temperature dependent. That’s what I do with my Pentair IC40 … it always tends to indicate higher salt pppm’s with higher temps on my control panel...

Effective Pool Cooling for Hot Climates

I do like all of the methods folks recommend for cooling down a pool. One method which is conspicuously absent is for solar heated pool owners ... just run the solar panels during the night to cool down your pool's temperature.

Build in Tampa - Pool, spa, lanai, outdoor kitchen, oy vey

Re: Build in Tampa - Pool, spa, lanai, outdoor kitchen, oy vey Manny, I love your choices and your plan looks amazing! I took a quick looks at your builder's quote and the only thing that caught my eye was the IC20 SWCG; I would strongly recommend upping that to an IC40. I did not catch what...

MasterTemp 400 Will not heat spa past 95 Degrees

Thanks for the tip Paul :salut: ... the Thermal Regulator was the offending part. After replacing the Thermal Regulator, I went ahead and also replaced the Thermistor as well. Since I have a SWG system, I figured better safe than sorry; especially after seeing the corrosion on the Thermal...

MasterTemp 400 Will not heat spa past 95 Degrees

I apologize for not getting back sooner, its been a busy holiday season for me. I went ahead and adjusted the temp setting to 104 and then ran into a red HLS error light on the control board along with a red LED 11 light on the control board. I ended up changing the high limit switch and I am...

MasterTemp 400 Will not heat spa past 95 Degrees

Good Afternoon, Last night I fired up my spa which is heated by a MasterTemp 400. It heated up to 95 degrees but would not heat up past that point. I even adjusted my Easytouch remote up to the max 104 agrees and water temp would never get past 95 degrees. Any troubleshooting suggestions...

    Pentair IC40 with no power

Gents, I had the same problem last week with all of my LEDs off. My setup is a bit different as I have the cell transformer integrated into the lower right side of my EasyTouch panel. My Cell control board is a bit different as well. A simple phone call to Pentair customer support helped a...

MasterTemp 400 Not Maintaining Stable Temperature

A temperature issue just cropped up on my MasterTemp 400. It will heat up fine to the desired temperature ... usually 98-100 degrees; but as the spa cools down, the heater doesn't fire back up until the spa temp drops down to 94-95. Is there a way that I can keep the temperature range tighter...

    Merits of Skimmer Socks

I'm pretty thorough when it comes to treating my pool, but these past 2 weeks left me to question my abilities. I had an elusive problem where my chlorine levels were tanking to near zero ppm! Hoping to nip this problem in the bud, I went to the pool school page and went through the regimen of...

    Intelichlor SWGs...Pros/Cons

I just replaced my first IC40 after 3 years and 9 months of service. It was installed during my original pool build along with my 100% Pentair system. I performed an electronic "autopsy" on this thing and it seems that the plastic skin started to crack horizontally right around the chlorine...

Pentair Warranty - Its Been an Interesting Year of Failures

Re: Pentair Warranty - Its Been an Interesting Year of Failu My local Pentair warranty folks stopped by last Friday and replaced the offending valve. Pentair suggested that I contact my PB ... which I did in order to double-check the electric install. Unsure of what they'll be investigating...

Pentair Warranty - Its Been an Interesting Year of Failures

Good evening folks, It's been a while since I've posted and I have had my share of repair experiences. Pentair IC-40 problems

I realize this thread is dated, but I wanted to pass on that my IC-40 seems to be working well (making chlorine that is) however like one of the posts above, I have an LED that is not working ... the Cell "status?" light. It is neither green (normal) or red (bad?). I'm 2 years into my 3 year...

    Need some advice on Heaters

To give you a feel for appearance, here's a pic of my roof solar at my former home. The panels are Heliocol and notice how they conform to the roof vent protrusions. Those panels faced dead-on south and I had other panels on the west facing side.

    First bid from PB.

Please get at least 5 bids ... make the builder take you to his previously built pools and speak to their owners. If he balks at that, its a HUGE red flag. Enjoy your journey!

    Need some advice on Heaters

Don't rule out solar panels yet my friend! Indiana HOAs don't have much of a leg to stand on regarding installation of solar panels. They may SAY they do, but Indiana Law says otherwise. Read this to get a feel for your rights --> http://www.in.gov/legislative/ic/code/t ... 7/ch2.html You'll...

Crystal clear water, but no FCL

This may irrelevant, but I'm curious if your chlorine feeder is working. After what you are describing, to lose that much FC PLUS the amount that the automatic feeder would be providing during the day suggests something else is bringing your FC levels down.

    What's your current pool temp?

I think that I may have the largest "Spa" on the forum 8-) ... I maxed my solar panel thermostat a couple days ago and the pool actually hit 95 degrees! Typical temperature range now is 87 overnight up to low 90s during the day.
