For the 2nd time in 6 years of pool ownership my Hayward ColorLogic is full of water again and failed. I am considering replacing with a Pentair Intellibrite color led, it appears to be of better build quantity. Does anyone have experience with that brand and/or opinions on which way to go?

Are you able to see in the light lens if you have water leakage into the bulb? That was my recent cause of failure. 2nd time since the pool was constructed 6 years ago. Pretty frustrated with Hayward quality, and am currently looking for a decent aftermarket replacement.

My spa light literally exploded from water intrusion. Found a great aftermarket "pencil" light that is performing nicely (Savi is the brand I believe?). But the large pool light is out.....again.....bad seal.

The cord swivel on my M5 seems to work well, both during operation and also helps during storage of the cord. What I mean by that is that there is a definite "memory loop" to the power cable, when re-racking the cable it seems to go easier as a result of the cord swivel.....I can keep looping...

Some here will disagree with me, but the threaded fittings manufacturers recommend -never- using tape, only a good PVC thread paste/sealant. But by all means yes, use a thread sealant for your pump connection.

That's a pretty good idea on the Hoffman enclosures. Weatherproof, and with the added advantage of being able to lock them when not in use to discourage theft!
