Looks like I'm needing a new main board for my Hayward Pro Logic

I saw that recommendation from you on another thread. Thank you, I'm actually going to take a peek!

Looks like I'm needing a new main board for my Hayward Pro Logic

Displaying the "high salt/high voltage" message. I did run the diagnostic menu check and getting a reading of 40.5 V, so it's apparently time for a new main board. Does anybody have guidance for me on a good source for the GLX-PCB-PRO board? My pool guy wants 1000 bucks to replace, I know...

Thanks, AJW....so basically we don't have any extra worthy replacement options. Perhaps I simply replace the Hayward with a Hayward and cross my fingers...….

Time to replace Hayward ColorLogic light......again.

For the 2nd time in 6 years of pool ownership my Hayward ColorLogic is full of water again and failed. I am considering replacing with a Pentair Intellibrite color led, it appears to be of better build quantity. Does anyone have experience with that brand and/or opinions on which way to go?

    Hayward ColorLogic 4 not working

Are you able to see in the light lens if you have water leakage into the bulb? That was my recent cause of failure. 2nd time since the pool was constructed 6 years ago. Pretty frustrated with Hayward quality, and am currently looking for a decent aftermarket replacement.

Replacement recommendations for old Hayward ColorLogic LED pool light

My spa light literally exploded from water intrusion. Found a great aftermarket "pencil" light that is performing nicely (Savi is the brand I believe?). But the large pool light is out.....again.....bad seal.

Replacement recommendations for old Hayward ColorLogic LED pool light

I would like to know as well if anybody has some good recommendations. I need to order my 3rd replacement in 5 years. Not cool. I can see the current failed fixture lens 1/2 full of water......

    Online sales warranty?

I bought mine from an online retailer. Maytronics warranty was a concern for me as well, but they assured me that the way around this was to simply work through them on any warranty issues. Luckily I discovered that their warehouse is only about 5 miles from me. I interpreted their answer as...

Dolphin M5 vs Dolphin Oasis Z5

In the pictures for the Z5, I do not see the middle brush that my M5 has? I just went and examined listings for both units and although they have some similarities (remote, caddy, filter cartridges) they are definitely different animals. The M5 has a center brush in addition to the other two...

Questions about spa blowers (like Silencer) - noise and adjustability.

Hi, Larry! My spa is supplemented with a Silencer blower. I have a rock grotto about 25' away from the spa that doubles as an equipment screen. It does sound a bit like a vacuum cleaner motor when running if I'm standing next to it, but when in the spa I cannot hear it over the noise of the...

    Pool landscape - plant recommendations

I've got Sagos around my pool, and 2 very hyper and nosy black labs. They don't mess with the palms, there is enough of a point on the ends of of the fronds to discourage them, even if they showed an interest in them, but they haven't. They just leave them alone. Also, I believe the dogs...

Booster pump for cleaning system making noise

Wow.....have not ever heard of that! Without seeing the entire ARS listing, and in conjunction with MAS' link, it looks like that was written for the pool builders, no? Lots of pool filter pumps installed prior to 2012, no doubt.....is everyone suddenly in violation of the law? If I want to...

Booster pump for cleaning system making noise

AZ law? There is nothing that I'm aware of that prevents you from putting any kind of pump and motor in your system of your choice in this state. You can definitely go single speed if you prefer, although there are some advantages to going multi speed depending on your system. Where are you...

    Dolphin Premier

Hi, Rob.....it does not travel in any specific direction for more than 20-30 seconds......it would not be stuck for 5 minutes or anything......it would be stuck momentarily and then either attempt to reverse direction or attempt to rotate and then reverse direction. I've got a slightly odd...

    Pool Pump Fitting Size

It's absolutely okay and common practice. He will use a 1-1/2" male thread by 2" slip adapter. Stepping up in pipe size immediately at the pump outlet will not adversely affect flow rates.....

    Dolphin Premier

As far as backing up, that seems to be part of the regular function on my M5....it travels in both directions as part of the cleaning process.....it will make a straight pass from side to side of the pool, return to somewhere in the center, and then turn 90 degrees......lather, rinse, repeat! I...

    Dolphin Premier

The cord swivel on my M5 seems to work well, both during operation and also helps during storage of the cord. What I mean by that is that there is a definite "memory loop" to the power cable, when re-racking the cable it seems to go easier as a result of the cord swivel.....I can keep looping...

Hayward Chlorinator CL200 O-Ring seems to last not very long

Re: Hayward Chlorinator CL200 O-Ring seems to last not very If you can get your hands on o-rings made of viton rubber you may have some better longetivity. Viton is most resistant to chlorine. Most off the shelf o-rings are typically made of SBR or EPDM rubber, which are fine for sealing for...

    Dolphin Premier

Rob, I bought my M5 on-line but was fortunate enough to have a local pick up point supplier. Not sure where you are located but if you are in AZ I can send you the contact info. They assured me the warranty is in effect the way they do their paper push. I've had mine since about August. It...

    Threaded PVC Question

I agree with you Dave.....it doesn't hurt to explain to any "newbies" a best way, however. To each his own, and if it ain't broke don't fix it, and if it works for you, etc. etc. ad nauseum. It's just as a manufacturer and supplier of this stuff I can definitively say that versus any warranty...

    Threaded PVC Question

Yup. I know it will do just fine for a pro, but the sealant is much more goof proof for Average Joe.....it's pretty easy to under wrap or over wrap with tape, but paste sealant is "self-adjusting". Male PVC into Female Metal are fine for tape, but I would never recommend using tape in PVC to...

    Threaded PVC Question

Some here will disagree with me, but the threaded fittings manufacturers recommend -never- using tape, only a good PVC thread paste/sealant. But by all means yes, use a thread sealant for your pump connection.

    Outdoor TV options

You can also get the enclosures with various options such as temperature control, etc. They tend to be spendy, though, I would not be surprised if the enclosure price meets or exceeds the cost of the TV! When it is time to do this for myself I will probably be scheming and dreaming up some...

    Outdoor TV options

That's a pretty good idea on the Hoffman enclosures. Weatherproof, and with the added advantage of being able to lock them when not in use to discourage theft!

Better Get Those Light Bulbs! (Friendly Reminder)

"Rough service" bulbs are still exempt as well. You can still get those indefinitely in 40 & 60 W soft white and clear. For when nothing will do but incandescent! I agree with Mike, though.....I've been slowly replacing with LEDs as some of my bulbs fail. They've made some pretty...

assistance needed with cutting of pool pipe

Been there, done that, but only as a last resort. That's a lot of work to try to save a couple of bucks. I'm not sure what the green cement in the video is, but here is the statement from the #1 PVC cement manufacturer: http://www.weldon.com/pdf/weldon/BestPr ... _Sep08.pdf Dave, the...
