    Death Swamp

My hopes were shattered...Well not really, the floc did not do the trick, so still maintaining the slam, and just hoping the filter can get the rest of the dead algae and what not remaining in the water. If not, I have another filter on standby that is brand new. More pictures coming.

    Death Swamp

Pictures coming, been busy with the slam, and a dirty sand filter that clogs every 24hrs, the sand is old and needs a deep clean, so I have reached the point in the slam where I am no longer losing Chlorine overnight, but the pool is overwhelmed with fine particles in the water, so, added some...

    Death Swamp

I did not take care of my pool at the end of last season. The stairs were removed and the pool left to do it's thing. A cat fell into the water "at some point" during the winter, how long ago I have no idea, in addition to a dead bird. Animals tend to decay slowly or not at all in water, so...

    Salt-water regret

I went salt on my pool a season ago, this season I am running back to the TFP method, although I loathe dealing with liquid chlorine, "when I can get it" the salt cells don't do well in my hard water, even with regular cleaning, whereas I just dump the proper amount of liquid in every day and...

    Pool looks great but...High CH

Thanks for all the help, I will lower the PH down to 7.0 7.2 in stages and monitor it with my Taylor test kit :) I will go ahead and leave the SWG running if you think it will be ok, I will be using Muriatic Acid, and will make sure to use breathing protection, that can be nasty stuff if...

    Pool looks great but...High CH

I have turned off my SWG until I get this under control and will switch to liquid chlorine to avoid destroying my new SWG cell. I guess I will start with PH down to 7-7.2 , then aerate the water to get the PH back, and see if I can get it balanced without a water change for now? Let me know...

Should I be losing chlorine this quickly?

I loose about 3-4ppm per day in south Texas as well, now my cya is over 80 from using tabs during the liquid chlorine shortage even after a water change last week. This means I am having to keep my daily FC around 8 to keep the algae at bay, but my water is Crystal otherwise, that and I...

Don't use 3 stabilized tabs on your pool, even though it has been tough to purchase bleach..just don't do it. I switched over to the 3 inch tabs when this "flu" began because chlorine bleach was in short supply, now here I am draining half my water because my CYA is over 80. Good news, is that...

    Backfill Around Above Ground Pool

water is going to go where it wants to, the cove will is to replace the "sand" cove they build up on the inside of the wall when they install it, the cove is permanent and will not wash out like the sand, you need to have your yard graded properly to route the water around the pool instead of...

    Backfill Around Above Ground Pool

Get a pre-formed pool cove to help deal with washout, my pool is in a low area where water travels when it rains, my previous abg pool washed out and the liner burst years ago, this install they recommended the pool cove to prevent this from happening should we have a wash out. Like this...

Considering SWG for Vinyl Liner Pool

So a SWG on an AGP with a vinyl liner and steel walls will not rust out due to using a SWG? Mine will have resin top caps, top and bottom rails, a steel wall and alum-steel service panel. Opinions?

Switching from Intex to Calypso 52" above ground pool.

Ok, so screw the warranty, what I want to know is those of you using a SWG system on an above ground pool with these specs, how has your experience been with corrosion?

Switching from Intex to Calypso 52" above ground pool.

I am having trouble finding information on this pool, we moved our install to August 14th as a result of family issues. I want to install a SWG system on this pool, but the sellers tell us this will void our warranty and that you cant use a SWG system on this type of AGP. Is this true? The top...

    Has intex quality dropped?

Yes the quality control on their uprights is horrible, I have had 3 rust all the way through "only using bleach-no saltwater" and cant believe how fast the rusted through. We went ahead this year and purchased a quality AGP with pro install as we are tired of replacing the intex pools, they are...
